Great place. Always welcoming volunteers and it's nice to see some tlc be given to 6233 Duchess of Sutherland. Also have a boiler pipe too. Will be coming back.

Great to see the work on these mighty engines being carried out. And a beautiful royal carriage which was used by Winston Churchill too. Great volunteers who love to chat and have a brew with you.

This is a great little place for steam locomotive enthusiasts, I take my train mad child quite often and the people who run the shed are friendly and informative - even taking my boy onto the footplate and teaching him the controls. There is also the provision of a nice little cafe with activities for little ones. We used to visit the West Shed quite often by accessing via a footpath that runs by the Midland Railway line, however unfortunately this is now blocked so access is only via paying to ride the Midland Railway locomotive.

My grandson loves it here. He's mad about trains. Loves sitting in the miniature train and pretending to drive it. Lots to see.
