Mad Max Tours

I'm not big on tours, but I really, really liked this one! I have so many good things to say about it.

For starters, Richard was an excellent guide. Very knowledgeable and super funny! Great voice too. I liked that he gave us some photos and objects we can look at while we were on the road.

For the tour itself, it was well organized and well worth the cost. Pacing was great. Perfect amount of time to see every part of each town we went to.

I appreciate that not only do you get to see Stonehenge (before the crowds show up!) but also a few villages that are wonderful and picturesque. I'm visiting the UK without a car, so I wouldn't have been able to see them on my own.

Also appreciated that bathrooms were free, clean and easy to access in each place we stopped at.

Highly recommended!!

We were in Bath for a week and wanted to see Stonehenge combined with some more sites. Came across Mad Max Tours booked their Tour 1 which took us across 3-4 locations.(Stonehenge, Cotswold villages, Avebury stone circles tour)

Maddy (must admit you have loads of knowledge. Your audio clippings were absolutely brilliant - you have a great voice too 😊). Hats Off !

Now let's come to the experience... the tour guide Kevin (a friends lookalike - Hope you read this Kevin) was an absolute delight and simply wonderful guide. The man from the village BOX ! ,😊

I can go on and on and on.... Let me put this review in a nutshell...

If you really want a superlative tourist experience in Bath Mad Max Tours is the one.

8/6/23 tour was amazing. I fell ill on my initial day and the company was kind enough to fit me in on the 6th prior to my journey back to the U.S. Our guide Tim was great, witty and a safe driver. The timing of the tour was great as we were one of the 1st at the Stonehenge site. It felt like we had it all to ourselves. The other stops were so quaint and historic and Tim pointed out many Harry Potter and DT Abbey 🎥 filming locations.
If in Bath and want to visit Stonehenge I highly recommend 👌 MAD MAX tours.

Kevin was a great tour guide! We did the Cotswald tour, and it was an amazing day! Kevin told us about a fish & chips place in Bath, and it was equally wonderful! Thank you Kevin!

Very good tour of Stonehenge, Avebury and a few small towns with some history commentary of each stop.
Starting early at Stonehenge to beat the rush was an excellent plan.
Small bus and considering the heat wave in September 2023 very glad to have the AC.
Supply of cold water was appreciated too.

I had a very nice full day tour of the Cotswolds from Bath. The guide was great and I learned a lot about the history and saw many picturesque villages. It was a really easy and fun way to see the Cotswolds.

We did the Stonehenge tour and loved it. I got very sunburned on my neck- I recommend bringing sunscreen (even if you think you don’t need it). My sister has a physical disability and was able to participate in all parts of this tour (albeit with a little bit of help). This is a very disability-friendly tour, which we really appreciated!

I wish we had spent more time in Castle Comb and Lacock. They were wonderful. I do not recommend eating at a pub in Lacock on your tour- it takes too much time to eat and you’ll miss out on the beautiful village. Andy was a great tour guide and very personable. Highly recommend!

Went on the Stonehenge/Lacock tour several years ago and still talk about it! One of the best tours we've taken. We really enjoyed the small size of the tour group, and Andy, our guide, was fantastic. Highly recommend and would book again!

I really wanted to see Cotswolds and I found this whole day tour. I took a break from the tour I was on and it was WELL worth it. Beautiful area and our guide Tim was excellent ‼

Had a fabulous tour with Andy who knows all the ins and outs of the main attractions as well as some fun little stops and picturesque sites in between. His sense of humor and interesting stories kept us entertained the whole day.

Our tour guide, Tim, the policeman, took us on a wonderfully organized and relaxing tour of Stonehenge, Avebury and Cotswolds from Bath. He was very professional, kind and knowledgeable. He went above and beyond to make the trip memorable. We thoroughly enjoyed it. Highly recommended

Book your tour with Mad Max and you'll thoroughly enjoy your time in the area surrounding Bath! Kevin was a wonderful tour guide and made the afternoon very pleasant. He has a kind and positive energy, and a good sense of humor. The smaller coaches are great and the information Kevin told us about each site was very informative. I did Tour #1 and highly recommend it! Communication from the beginning was also wonderful - quick email responses and a great sense of care throughout the whole process. Tour 3 to Castle Combe, Lacock and Stonehenge was WONDERFUL! Tour guide Colin was fun and knowledgeable. I enjoyed the small group size and the walk into the Stones was incredible. We also had dinner at Sign of the Angel which was a gorgeous old inn but delicious modern food.

Our group had a pleasant time with Andy as our guide for the day. He was patient, informative, and humorous. It was a different level of sightseeing vs doing everything ourselves.

Excellent trip to Stonehenge, Avebury and small towns. We decided to take the tour instead of driving ourselves to save us the hassle of finding parking places etc. and we are glad we did. The tour gave us sufficient time in all the places and the guide was helpful telling us about things on the way. Recommended.

We took the Stonehenge, Avebury, Lacock, Castle Combe tour, which absolutely exceeded our expectations. Our tour guide, Kevin, was stellar. He had great knowledge, clever stories and was quick and clear when asked a question. The tour itself was well constructed and gave plenty of time at each location for seeing the major attractions and even extra time to explore. This was a great way to start our stay in Bath and we highly recommend it to anyone wondering if they should book.

Kevin is energetic, knowledgeable , and ,good guy. All guests were happy with him. We called him a couch Kevin, because he used to be couch or teacher. He asked a lot of words to my son, 14 years old because he is really shay.
This course is different from the normal tour which a big bus goes to major sightseeing spots fromLondon. We could go 5 interesting sightseeing driven by van. So the tour looks like bigger family.
I recommend the madman tour. I will try Cotswolds tour next time.

Really enjoyed the tour with Tim and Mad Max Tours. In fact, I enjoyed it so much in 2019 that I brought my niece to experience the same tour. They have this down to a precise science without making it seem like they've done it too many times. Your guide will impart lots of great info, get you to Stonehenge before the crowds, and give you plenty of time to wander without abandoning you. The group is small and the van is comfortable. Highly recommended!

We had a wonderful experience on our tour with Andy. We saw picturesque villages, explored Stonehenge, and was shuttled on a very comfortable small bus ride. The guide provided relevant and insightful information, and was entertaining and polite. I highly recommend a tour with Max Mad.
