BEST place ever!!! Food is out of this world, the location is perfect, and the rooms are clean and very comfortable. I literally have nothing to fault.

Lovely country pub with fine ales and excellent food on offer. Rooms are reasonably priced and clean - you can have a "Continental" breakfast box brought to your door or (apparently) a cooked breakfast in the pub. Superb location and combination of a "proper" local with gastro pub. Works well 👍

Beautiful old pub, the food is outstanding... probably the best gastro pub I've ever eaten at. The rooms are nice, basic but adequate. Staff were brilliant, very friendly, open and honest (they forgot to put a gin in our gin and tonic and they realised before us and brought us another free of charge)

I'd definitely stay again, you won't be disappointed with the food!

Lovely clean, Modern and comfortable rooms. Plenty of hot drink options , nice to see hot chocolate sachets as not many places provide these anymore!

Nice atmosphere in the pub, lots of selection for drinks and food! The burger and duck chips was absolutely amazing, definitely one of the best burgers I have ever had. Staff are really welcoming and are happy to help with anything. Nice big car park suitable for our van also!
Will definitely be back :)

We were in our motorhome in the car park. The roads are in a very bad way to get there but it’s SO worth it ! We both had Flatiron steak which was medium rare, just right.
We’ll go again, that’s for sure.

Fun works Christmas meal. Lovely warm (not so mini) camembert to start, turkey dinner with all the trimmings and a lovely lemon tart for dessert. Great food, service and ambience. Delicious!

I was travelling by the Great Western Arms, with my son, when our car was crippled by a puncture; we had to wait for the RAC and, subsequently, a tow truck and waited the the Pub car park for some time.
Well before the pub officially opened, members of staff invited us inside so that we could keep warm. They provided coffee and orange juice free of charge and allowed us to sit in front of their fire.
Once the pub was open we ordered food, but just as the food was ready, the tow truck arrived. The staffed kindly boxed up the food so we could take it with us. We both agreed that the food was lovely and nourishing. Before the tow truck arrived we also managed to order drinks; the selection was excellent.
The pub is in an ideal location when travelling across the south midlands.
We cannot thank the staff more for their kindness and consideration and happily recommend them, the food and the drinks available.

We took the detour on our travels for lunch based on Google reviews and were not disappointed. A very broad and interesting menu, including smaller plates for those seeking lighter meals, and all cooked to perfection and served with a smile by our attentive host. And such a great location, set between the canal and a couple of railway lines, with railway memorabilia adorning the walls inside. Much to like!

Another lovely meal, excellent 3 courses (delicious chocolate mousse dessert), and even my mum (not big on chips generally) enjoyed her duck chips! Friendly staff and lovely atmosphere.

Had a superb lunch with the old folks at GWA yesterday. The food was hot and fresh cooked and portion sizes were great!
Fish and chips (with upgraded "Duck" chips - must be tried!) was light and tasty and melt in the mouth perfection.
By all accounts, from my fellow diners, the Lamb burger was also spectacular.
Decent range of desserts and a great canal side location made it a great lunch venue.
Book or arrive early as it gets, justifiably, busy!

We are on holiday from cornwall, holidaying on a boat, our first stop for tea this evening was here, and it didn't disappoint! We had nacho starters, pork main, which was amazing! And rhubarb crumble and custard, all gluten free! Was also impressed that I could have a gluten free beer,as not many pubs do them! 5* ,if we have time.on our way back home,we may pop in again!

Same prices as any country pub and plenty of it. Will 100% be back to eat . Top tip.. burgers /onion rings are amazing!
