Varey's

One of the best locations in the Ribble Valley town of Clitheroe. A very English feeling area. Good food, great shops. Even found some free parking which is a bonus. The Castle makes it just amazing. Happy to visit again .

Being a massive advocator of customer service throughout my retail career, this place epitomises customer service and needs to hold its ‘head up high’.
Visited Clitheroe from Lancaster for the first time since (ahem) covid and walked into a lovely welcome 2 weeks ago…
My Wife tried on a coat that she loved and I thought ‘Valentines Day!’
She googled the coat etc etc and I fobbed her off (as you do)
Today, I drove the 40 miles from Lancaster and walked into Varey’s to purchase said coat, not only to be remembered by amazing Staff, but both of us to be remembered, dogs ‘n all, coming into the store and Wifey trying on the coat!!!

I’ve built my Businesses knowing what my customers require on a day to day basis…This, for a prominent, busy, quality store, was next level !!

I WILL be back, so will my Wife 🫣

I ordered an item listed in the sale online only to find that the size was a tad large.
Having returned the item I was very pleased to receive the requested exchange within 3 days of posting.
Not only this, but since checking the price on the label and the website I realized that the item was no longer in the sales listing, but Varey's had honoured the price I paid and provided an exchange at the same price. Amazing customer service. I've had to argue with shops in the past on the basis that "this item is now listed at full price" but not so with Varey's. I have shopped there in person before and always found them extremely helpful. It would seem that their online service is equally amazing.

Lovely shop great choice and have most sizes in stock. Bit dearer than online but you know it fits when you buy and no returns hassle that you get with on line

Visited a few times for myself and bought two shirts. Visited Monday to buy my son a couple of jackets and shirts and have a wax jacket washed and rewaxed. Today I had another wax jacket mended and washed and rewax. Thanks to Helen, Georgia and Pat for their guidance. Very approachable and knowledgeable.

My wife bought a Barbour Belsay yesterday which she says is perfect.
Staff were helpful and friendly to both of us and our dog got treats.
Overall shopping there was enjoyable as the shop is packed with top quality out door gear.

Shopping for a Barbour jacket for my husband today.
Excellent service, nothing too much trouble, young lady who served us couldn’t have been more helpful, pleasant and courteous. Would definitely recommend and would shop there again.

Whilst in Clitheroe, my wife & I called in for a look around. I’ve been wanting a hood for my old Barbour jacket & enquired if they could help. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful. They knew they should have the exact hood but could just put their hands on one, after a 10 minutes & I think all staff hunting around the stockroom. The hood was found.

Friendly, efficient and helpful service. I ordered a Barbour jacket by phone on Tuesday and it arrived on Wednesday.

I been to several shops looking for the right arbour jacket. Had so many disappointment with lack of stock and not my size.
Ken Varey was so well stocked, lots of choice and I left with a barbour jacket and a smile on my face.
Can I also say the staff in the shop were so helpful and didn't mind me trying on several jackets before I made my mind up.
