Amazing friendly helpful staff. Food is just beautiful. I had the roast of the day and apple pie and custard. It was just lovely, tender and tasty. Very nice atmosphere. Totally recommend a visit and enjoy your food.

Big thanks to Ann for sorting me out at such short notice. Great place to stay as all the staff work hard and make life easy. Big breakfast, free car park and a great location. Clean towels everyday and a nice Big bar. When l go back to Clitheroe l will be staying at the Rose and Crown. Thanks to all.

This pub is fantastic, the staff work tirelessly to make sure everything is to the customers satisfaction. The work they put in to make the Mod weekender happen and run so smoothly is amazing. Couldn’t recommend them enough, plus the booze is spot on and very reasonably priced!

Solid down to earth pub, good ales friendly efficient staff, yet to eat there but will report back when do.
Ate there Saturday lunchtime, loved it. Real excellently, cooked vegetables, tasty burgers, home made coleslaw, good portions, very reasonably priced. Would recommend to anyone.

The manager Michelle is a beautiful friendly person who will do her best to help you with any problems
The staff are all helpful and polite all in all a great place to stay!!!
The bedrooms are a little dated but that's normal with brewery owned pubs
THEY WANT THEIR MONEY OVER THE BAR
and forget about the staying travellers
It would be nice to see some investment in room refurbishment, we'll see !!!! Pigs CANNOT fly that's just a rumour
Thank you alan

Popped in for a spot of lunch. It was very quiet so we didn't know what to expect we both ordered a sandwich. I had the hot beef and onion and my partner had the tuna mayo. Both came with fresh side salad chips and what I'm guessing was home made coleslaw. The food was fantastic! The chips where the best ice had in a long time, the sandwich was served on a fresh large baton and was generously filled. We were both stuffed after we had finished. The Service was friendly and our food arrived very quickly. We will go back next time we are in the area. Very pleasant surprise.

Nothing fancy. Not even close! But friendly place and great Thwaits beer too. Didn’t eat but deff going back when next in Clitheroe. Excellent pub.

Update. Since eaten twice here & we all really enjoyed it. Great food - and more lovely beer. However, if you’re coeliac then you’re out of luck. Otherwise, brilliant!!

I was in Clitheroe for a working weekend on a Small Holding. Ann welcomed me and made me feel at home straight away.
Ann was there in the mornings, at lunchtime, and at night. She is amazing! Hard working and attentive.

The hotel is extremely clean and everything you need for a stopover.
Food is also top notch.

I'll be back in October for another weekend of farming duties 😃

Daytrip to Clitheroe, fancied something 'hearty' for lunch. I had the Battered Cod, Mrs P had the homemade Cheese & onion pie with a sub of Mushy Peas. Both meals absolutely red hot & cooked to perfection. Washed down with a couple of Peroni...job done!. Warm welcome, great choice of food & prices were very reasonable. Central location (near to the Castle) lots of shops to explore. Liked the day out that much would seriously consider moving to this lovely place. We'll done R & C. 👍

Good pub for a pint, with a barman who also knew the ale was on turn as he poured it, first sip confirmed and no issues swapping to a different drink.

If you want 5 star decor then this is not the place for you, however, if you want a compy bed, clean sheets, fabulous pillows, fluffy white towels, good food and great friendly hosts then this is the place to stay. Will stay definitely here again if we're in the area.

We were looking for somewhere to have lunch with our little dog and this was the only place in town that we could take our dog in. I was to be honest a little apprehensive as we were the only people in the bar but needn't have worried as within 10 minutes the place was quite busy we both had a sandwich mine with chips my wife's with soup they were very good value and absolutely delicious I was amazed at the quality of the food I have paid a lot more for food half as good! Please don't hesitate to try this fantastic little pub.
