Just go there and experience a truly lovely experience. Dog very friendly and always remembered when we arrive there. Excellent food , drink options and service. Most of all our dogs get the same attention to love and care. A gorgeous family experience every visit. Thank you for the doggie sausages. Karen, James and the 3🐕🐕🐕

Really good visit
Three of us had a three course meal and no real complaints at all (slight lighthearted dig at the lack of custard with the dessert was rewarded by an extra, free jug from one of the excellent service staff)
We all had the same "black pudding stack starter" which came with beautifully cooked haggis and was great!
Well worth a visit!

Called in here on the way back from a day trip at Blackpool Zoo. The Landlady was very welcoming, nothing was too much trouble for her, we were met with a friendly, smiley Landlady, which I think speaks volumes, especially when you're not a regular. We hadn't booked and she sorted us a table for 6 people. Food was perfect, service brilliant, it was not overly busy when we called in, which was great but could tell that it will be a popular venue with the locals. Thank you and will definitely call again

Is this a hidden gem or a local treasure? The pub itself has been a local main stay for years and now has new ownership which does not disappoint. It felt like a personal service with a smile and conversation with the food being absolutely delicious and filling. Would definitely recommend reserving a table in advance 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

What an amazing find this gem is! Beautiful beer garden, great friendly staff and the food was delicious, the best hot beef and onion in gravy sandwich I have ever eaten…. Thick slices of perfectly cooked beef onion and rich gravy on thick toasted bread (brown or white option) thoroughly enjoyed every mouthful.
Washed down with an Amstel which was perfect.

The hostest with the mostest was what made our experience. What a jovial lady. She was very attentive and friendly. Food was average but we were just having a get together. Drinks were fab and service great

Great atmosphere, warm and cosy in winter with an open fire. Outside area for summer and pool table, darts for sport. Food is great and sourced from a tip butchers called Honeywells. Will be here again soon

Fantastic pub in a beautiful village. You are always made to feel welcome here, especially around Halloween when we make our annual pilgrimage to visit Meg's grave in the church opposite.

Can't beat the quality and quantity for the price point. Good atmosphere, quirky little building with friendly staff. Food portions were great, the taste was good and it was cheap! A good pub lunch.
