Beautiful place for a walk accompanied by a dog if you wish. All of the dog owners we ran in to were very friendly and handled their dog well around our puppy. The place has notices with rules, dogs on leads for example. Well maintained and looked after.

Great place for a stroll with or without a dog. Free car parking. A visitor centre with toilets but the centre and toilets aren't open every day. Plenty of Ducks and Squirrels. At time of posting we haven't to feed ducks, birds etc due bird flu. Children will love it.

Very nice nature reserve with plenty of walks and areas to explore. There's free parking, a visitors centre and 3 large ponds. Nice that it's central to Longton and easy to get too.

Nice walking park with a big lake in the middle! There are several benches to take a rest along the lake as well! It's nice to take dogs for a walk and breathe fresh air!

In summer, it's even more lively with birds and ducks!

Just beautiful. The whole lake was frozen over. Obviously we kept at a safe distance but just amazing to look at.

Been here many times over the years lovely little place.

Lovely little place walk round in less than 10 minutes or saunter at a more leisurely pace.

Take a picture or three, dog walkers families and all.

Please Note the visitor centre is open
Wednesday to Sunday 12:30pm to 4pm

There are new opening times for the visitor centre in October.

Love this place. Lots of lovely ducks and swans to see. We saw a few squirrels too. It's a child friendly walk. Can get beautiful pictures of the lake. You can do a short walk for kids or a longer walk.

So much greenery, and the sounds of lots of birdsong! I photographed a Jay, identified by the Warden, nature reserve building has lovely displays, a warden to ask questions ( think he may only be there after lunch) and toilets. Lots of ducks and babies! Many benches to sit on and admire nature.

Had a lovely walk round the main lake then upto the smaller lakes over the road. We fed the birds with all natural bird seeds the sun was out and although the free car park was busy the walk was quiet and very enjoyable with loads of wild plants and nature to be enjoyed.
Look out for the visitors centre and the sculptures it's a lovely place to spend a couple of hours, a hidden gem, then visited the Longton Chippy on the way home first time we've been and my hubby had a super big bag of crispy chips and I had a very good crispy fish with salad, It was a lovely relaxing afternoon and of course we shared the fish and chips with the dog. Longton is a lovely village to visit.

A hidden gem - only 5 miles from home and I didn't even know it was there! I spotted it on someone's Facebook post and thought I'll give the place a try. I went this morning with my three dogs Roxy, Oliver and Pebble, who slipped her harness halfway round. But that's another story........🤔 It's an easily walkable jaunt around the lake with plenty of shade and plenty of benches to sit down and rest. The pathways are wide enough and flat enough for prams and wheelchairs, making it accessible for all. Parking is free - the only criticism I might have is there are no toilets, well not that I could see anyway. Lovely and peaceful, and I will be back!
