Village Vet Berkhamsted

Brilliant vets! Vets, nurses and reception staff are all so incredibly friendly. They really care about each animal and are very thorough. We also had great 24 hour care / support from the branch in St.Albans also. Couldn't recommend highly enough!

Such lovely staff, really welcoming and Harriet the exotic vet is fantastic she really knows her stuff. She asked all my questions and has such a lovely friendly manner she really cares about us and the pets. Thank you soo much to village vet I highly recommend.

Very knowledgeable about exotic pets. Gave good sound pragmatic advice and a range of options, up front about costs. Communication since has been great and access via telephone and email really good too. I'm thrilled we have discovered this practice.

I took my 2 cats in to get neutered, all the staff have been very informative, efficient, friendly and responsive. I decided last minute on the day of the operation that I’d like to have my cats microchipped as well, and this was done on the same day absolutely no hassle, the vet was also happy to answer any general questions I had whilst he was taking a look at my cats before taking them in for surgery. The nurse was very informative in explaining after care for my cats and the staff have been very helpful assisting with any concerns I have had so far post op. Very reasonably priced and also included pain medication, cones, some food for them as well as a post op consultation that has been included in the cost too! Have had a very positive experience and will continue to go to this vet clinic going forward

I called in the morning around 11:00 as I was concerned about my Rabbit, Reception took a note of my concerns and passed them to Harriet our vet, she very kindly arranged for us to be seen at 16:00 this afternoon,
At the apt, it was arranged for our bunny to go in tomorrow for anaesthetic so his teeth could be checked or x rays done to maybe find an explanation as to why he is so very quiet and not eating very much.
We were very pleased with the kindness shown and the speed with which the necessary checks are being done.

I cannot say anything bad about these vets. We are always seem promptly and they are very good with my cats.
We have a new cat and he is quite nervous and Harriet the vet was so good with him and I know when he has to come in for some dental work he'll be well looked after.

Before choosing a vet surgery I asked about in local dog groups and Clarke and Marshall came up as a recommendation far more than others. We don’t live particularly close, but it is worth travelling to get such brilliant service and care. We’ve always been able to get an appointment and the reception staff are very knowledgeable when I ring up with medication requests. Recently we unfortunately had an emergency case and even though they were due to shut, they stayed open for me to rush my dogs in. Harriet even called the next day to see how they were doing because she just genuinely cared how they were getting on. Thanks for your continued commitment to do the very best for my pets.

Extremely caring staff, very polite & helpful, friendly receptionists & a real sense of wanting the absolute best for your 4 legged family member.

Very efficient, friendly practice. Have been using this practice for about 30 years when it was Clark and Marshall and I was apprehensive when it was taken over by Village vet but the transition was relatively smooth. Some of the new vets didn't have Mr Clark's experience so we had to pay for tests that were probably unnecessary (I think). Then Covid happened and face to face appts were cancelled which was another worry but I think the practice handled the situation well. There have been a few changes in staff but despite moving away, I still attend with my pet. My favourite vet is Katie

I booked an appointment for my dogs annual check, as we were right up to the 15 month window. Whilst it wasn’t ideal that I couldn’t go in with my dog, who hates the vets after being Spay’d; I totally understand why in this current climate.
The nurse took my dog & talked to her all the way in & the vet called me whilst she was in with her. Very professional and reassuring service, I would highly recommend.
The receptionist Sam was great at explaining everything & made me feel comfortable about asking all my many questions.

I cannot rate this place highly enough. The staff are all so friendly and wonderful, and when I had an emergency with my puppy (thanks, whoever discarded their spliff on the ground) they were absolutely brilliant at getting us booked in quickly and efficiently, as well as calming me down! I recommend it to anyone and everyone.

Mr Shnuffles the Hedgehog saw Harriet the vet today, she was fantastic with him (it helped he was on his best behaviour).
It was an hour round trip, but so worth going there.
I highly recommend this vet practice, and any small animals you have Harriet is amazing with them.
So happy I was recommended this place by my local vets who don't deal with hedgehogs.

Once more Harriet the vet has shown true professionalism and compassion in supporting me and my three sick chickens. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff at every level including receptionists, nurses and vets. Excellent service.

We feel so lucky to have the Village Vet team just around the corner from our home. Our new kitten became very ill and the whole team have been absolutely incredible. Thank you all so much for everything. A wonderful vet.

Best vet practice I have ever used. Excellent care and lovely staff. Edited to add-this was when Richard Clarke ran the practice under the name of Clarke and Marshall. Less impressed now Village Vets have taken over.
