Love the Nags Head been a couple of times but recently surprised our children (6 between us) that we had got married the day before . Everyone at the Nags Head helped in creating the surprise and it was perfect. The food is fantastic, all staff are welcoming and helpful. They went out of their way to make our special occasion extra special. Can’t recommend highly enough. Did I say the food is excellent 😋😂

We had an excellent lunch here. Carefully thought out menu kept Mum, Dad and 14 year old daughter happy. Enjoyed mussels; venison pie and burger. Just a shame we couldn't manage a dessert. And staff friendly and attentive.

Had a fabulous dinner at the Nags Head. The food was absolutely delicious. We had mussels and grilled hake, followed by Chocolate fondant. The staff were super friendly. Highly recommend.

We had our wedding reception at the Nags Head this summer, and it was absolutely perfect. It's a beautiful location, the food was absolutely excellent, and the staff were brilliant both during planning and on the day, making sure that everything ran smoothly for the whole event. I can't recommend them highly enough.

The Nag’s Head could not have been more perfect for our wedding reception. They hosted us and 40 other guests in the Tipee 3 days before Christmas and it was magical. We simply left all our decorations there with a plan for each table and when we walked in as man and wife, it was even more glorious than we had imagined. The team were outstanding. The food was exceptional and was prepared by one of the finest chefs we’ve ever deal with, Jack. His attention to detail, his professionalism and mastery of skill was just outstanding and every single guest at our reception is still talking about how special the food was. It made our day even more perfect than we could have imagined and we cannot recommend this venue any more.

Visited for lunch in early December, everything was perfect! The service was friendly and attentive, the food was delicious and seasonal, and the pub was clean and cosy with Christmas decorations up. We will definitely be back for another visit in the future.

My friends live in the area and took me here because it's their favorite pub. I soon learned why! I had the croquettes as an appetizer and the venison as my main meal, but even the BUTTER for the bread is divine! The croquettes were flavorful and delicious. The venison was tender and juicy. A crumble for dessert topped off the meal perfectly. On top of all of it, the chef requested our feedback after the meal! (I got the impression their menu changes quite a bit.) I honestly didn't have any notes—it was my first experience with venison and I'm so glad I had it here. One of my friends had a minor suggestion regarding the sauce on her dish, and the suggestion was accepted by our server with grace. I've worked with a lot of chefs over the years, and the one constant is a massive ego. (Sometimes deserved...sometimes not.) The fact that a chef is both talented enough to prepare food at this level AND humble enough to accept that there's room for improvement? I've literally never heard of anything like that. A lot of restaurants say they care about the customer, but the Nags Head SHOWS it.

I don't drink anymore, but my friend works in a brewery and he got 3 pints, so I take it the beer selection is good. The service was fast without rushing us, and so very friendly! I cannot speak highly enough about them and their delightful smiles. (Maybe I'm just used to frosty New Englanders and fake Angelenos, but I felt the staff welcomed us like family—even bringing some water for my friends' dog!) Our main server was a young woman whom I believe was coming off of a double-shift, but she was as cheerful and friendly as if she had just arrived at work. A man took over around dessert time and was similarly friendly. Both were extremely patient with my friends' dog, which was much appreciated.

The atmosphere is extremely charming—though we were seated in an area with very low ceilings, so tall folk beware! (I am a Hobbit, so it didn't bother me, and it didn't matter once we were seated.)

The clientele is wonderful as well—I kid you not, a very kind man bought us a round of drinks because he appreciated how emotionally open we were being in our conversation with each other. (Or something like that; my friend got the whole story—and covered a round for him and his girlfriend as well.) I've been abroad for about a week and a half, had several delicious meals in both London and Paris. This was in my Top 3 meals for this trip.

I cannot comment on the rooms as I am staying with my friends at their nearby cottage, but if I didn't know anyone in the area I would stay here just to be close to that food and to become better friends with the staff and locals.

One of the things that the five of us have in common is that the Nags Head is one of the favourite 'go to' restaurants for each of us.
The service is friendly, familiar and quietly self-assured. The venue is historic, quirky and oozes character. The food is presented beautifully and is very tasty. The menu includes both familiar 'standards' and some less predictable options alike. The setting, grounds, aesthetics and ambience all contribute to the sense of 'occasion' whenever we visit. Prices are mid to upper range for provincial dining, but worth every penny.

Great service from the very start. Made a mistake with booking, when contacting the the Inn Molly and Peter were more than kind and accommodating to correct things. Food was first rate both dinner and breakfast were delicious. One major niggle was the constant loss in water pressure in the shower causing it to go cold and then warm again and second bed was not prepared. Minor issues bathroom bin broken and bath had some damage. Service was excellent especially staff at dinner service.

Nice lunch on Monday last. Only criticism is there was only one turkey meal left even though it was quiet.

Lovely location and a great place to stop. Absolutely love this area.
This is a very iconic place. The Professionals TV series. Series 1, Episode 7 "Close Quarters". Lewis Collins tries to make a call from a phone box outside the pub while escorting a terrorist who he has captured.

Third time visiting here and, once again, had the best time. The restaurant is just incredible and worth the journey in and of itself, but if you get the chance to stay too, highly recommend doing so. The rooms are nice and homely, and the breakfast in the morning is - as you'd expect with such a great chef and team - amazing. Highly recommend for a visit; I know we'll be back!

Went to The Nags Head for a Sunday roast with family and I have to say it's one of the best tasting roasts I've had! The staff were very friendly, well mannered and very happy to help give suggestions from the menu. Will 100% be returning in the future and would recommend to anyone looking for a high quality meal in a beautiful pub.

Its always a pleasure to visit Nagshead and this time was no exception. We had great meals each day and dinner in the tipi was an especially beautiful experience. Taylor was awesome throughout our stay organising our rooms and meals. Both rooms were fantastic and the location is superb. We'll be back!
