Monkton Park

A lovely, green and neat park.

The children love it, golfers play their golf. Young adult do their ball games and parents watch their children catching fun.

Just behind the town centre so he can take time off after sorting business.

Went to the civil war reenactment today which was a fun day out with cannons and musket firing and a nice encampment with tents featuring different parts of life in the 17th century.
Being right next to the town centre it was easy to nip for a coffee and a bite to eat, in fact as we were sat in the cafe they marched up the street to the beat of the drum!
Wonderful event well worth the trip.

Really lovely park, level grass areas. perfect for the caravan/ motorhome site for the Chippenham folk festival.

Visited for the Chippenham 10 on Sunday. Looks a well kept area with a MUGA, children's playground and cafe. Runs alongside of the river, not far from the town.

It's a beautiful place monkton park surrounded by nature. Good place for walk and hangout with family and friends

Great place to have a walk in these trying times and easy to distance socially. Nice to see the crazy golf back open gives something to do and get a takeaway coffee

Its a very nice spot. Lots of social/ family events hosted there. A rare blood red sky and a rainbow too! 😱

A welcoming park for children
We enjoyed the morning at the park we had some snack and the children played on the variety of equipment. No dogs mess, no rubbish and fenced in to keep your littles ones safe very impressed

The nice place to spend time with children. Suit for runners as well

Very large open grass area.. holds a few events each year such as folk festival, fun fair, food and drink festival ect.. plenty of space to sit and relax or take a walk alongside the river Avon.. or even take a swing at mini golf, plenty of trees to shade on sunny days.. one of the few large green areas left around chippenham,

Lovely green space with plenty of trees, a river and a bank in order to slide down to the middle of the park, when it's been snowing!
A tea house on the edge of the park owned by Wendy and her husband, serves the town and its visitors daily, which is adjacent to the golf course. The course provides 'footgolf', usual golf and miniature golf...! What's not to like.

Lovely to sit in the park & watch the world go by. Picnic benches for everyone. Lovely.

Monkton park is a great place to go . Good for picnic dog walking or just for a stroll down by the river they have a golf course too crazy golf. Etc.

Really nice local park right by the river. Lots of trees, plenty of grass for kids or dogs to have a run around, a playground and some basketball courts. There's also a gold course and crazy golf nearby, with a small cafe. Well worth a visit if the weather is nice

Clean and well kept, utilised frequently for events.

Monkton Park is an open park with a large unobstructed grass area perfect for recreation. There are small areas of trees on the edge of the open area and along the river bank. The river forms the lower boundary of the park.
There is a fenced children's play area for younger children and basketball/football court area with high fencing for older teens.
The park is very close to the town centre - 5 min walk. The Olympiad leisure centre is at one end, a pitch & putt golf course the other.
I love this park. It's a relaxing beautiful place to spend you time with different parts giving different experiences.
A simple place that's a under appreciated treasure.

Great park which follows the river from the town centre to the countryside outside Chippenham, incorporating a children's playground and edging up to the leisure centre and a crazy golf course, beyond which is the municipal golf course. Great for dog walkers (like me), children or really any member of the community.

A place of peace and quiet, even when the open field is used for a caravan park for the Chippenham Folk Festival. It is very restful, and the surrounding trees give an air of spacious countryside in the middle of the town. The river flowing gently through the middle is scenic and populated by numerous ducks and swans, giving an even more idyllic picture.
