Beautiful independent bookshop and publisher, I’d definitely recommend popping in if you can. Each of the books come with a matching bookmark and I can guarantee there’s something in there that you’ll love. The short summaries for each book on the shelves are also really useful

A marvellous book shop. You can tell they have put in so much effort and dedication into it. The book selection covers female authors from all time, and each book comes with a matching book mark! Absolutely worth stopping by!

Persephone’s books is a truly great find tucked away on the top of Bath’s high street. I am very glad I popped in and the attention to detail here is seamless. The interior of the bookshop is very inviting and vibrant. Each book on the shelves has a small description underneath it so that you know what to expect from a story and can pick out the book which inspires you the most. All books cost the same, from the tinniest one to the biggest one.
I bought a couple of copies of romantic literature which I cannot wait to devour. Maddy in particular was very helpful and lovely, she had guided me through which novels she thinks I would be most interested in and gave me some great recommendations for wider reading in literature and romantic poetry. Her customer service skills were exceptional.
There is also a computer in the shop which you can browse all categories and genres of books they have on or books in your area of interest. You also receive a bookmark for free with the matching inside cover for each book which is such a nice touch. I would recommend popping in when on the hunt for a good read.

A lovely bookstore that publishes and sells books written mainly by female authors. I traveled all the way from America and the shop did not disappoint! I left with a stack of books recommended by the amazing staff.

An unusual independent publisher and bookshop. A great place if you are looking for something for an avid reader. The books are largely by female authors and are not available in the big chain bookstores. They also sell pretty sheets of paper and notebooks.

Beautiful bookshop, really appreciate the female classic selection of the publishing house. However, I wish they can add more non European authors. It is definitely a place to go if you are in Bath.

The charming little shop also serves as publisher HQ, so the staff are extremely knowledgeable about their books. While I was there, another customer asked for a recommendation, and the bookseller said with enthusiasm, "We have everything from thrillers to cookery! What would you like today?" It might be impossible to leave with just one book. Beautiful editions of books ranging generations, well-curated, are stacked beautifully with their coordinating bookmarks. They also sell sheets of their endpapers and cards. Some titles are pre-giftwrapped. It's definitely worth a pilgrimage for booklovers!

Lovely bookshop that specialises in female authors who would otherwise potentially be out of print. Books are reasonably priced and beautifully designed, and the shop itself is so cosy and inviting

A fabulous bookstore with a range of delightful books to enjoy. I adore all the staff, and try to attend their monthly reading groups as often as I can – this is just such a warm and friendly place, and definitely not to be missed.

This bookshop now based in Bath is an exquisite and wonderful experience. Persephone publish books by mainly female authors that are generally not mainstream but whose books are all worthy of more regard and readers.

A brilliant concept, which is executed beautifully - I particularly loved the attention to detail of the way the lining of the books correspond with the era the book was written in (and match with its own bookmark!). Can't wait to delve into the gems I discovered!

A cute, welcoming bookshop ran by the publishing company itself. An extremely friendly staff and lots of unique reads.

Formerly one of London's best bookshops, now based in Bath. They are a publisher of classic but forgotten books by women and all their titles come in a uniform style. A great place to pop into and find a book to read that you wouldn't come across anywhere else. Wonderful concept and amazingly executed. And great as gifts too.

Love the concept that the bookstore began with - publishing banned books written by women. The staff were so sweet and I love the pricing of their books as well. 3 books for £33 which is not unreasonable at all! Wish there was an explanation of why each book was banned and its history. The unique inside covers for each book with matching bookmarks is a cute touch and adds to the quirky and unique environment. Would have loved it if there was a bathroom to use as well, would have allowed me to peruse even longer.
