We are so lucky to have the Chertsey Meads on our doorstep. Sadly at the moment it is in a sorry state because of all the upheaval caused by the installation of the Esso pipeline.
If you are lucky you might see some deer on your walk across the Meads.

Sadly our beautiful hay meadow is still in a mess in places and still fenced off due to the pipeworks. Access is still possible for walking.

Still lots of mud and flood water areas. Dog swimming in rain water pool/lake. Newly planted trees and whips here and there. Newly pollarded and coppice trees too. Road edges in need of repair.

Perfect for picnic, chill with family/friends. Plenty of space to have outdoor meal. There are a few tables and space for barbecue. Fun for kids.

It’s a great place for a walk or to walk your dog. Lots of variation in the paths you can take. A little muddy during the late autumn months. But still enjoyable.

Walked with friends on a Sunday, beautiful interesting, easy parking which was free. when we got to the lock we had tea in a lovely cafe overlooking the River. Then we crossed over the lock and took the ferry which cost £2.50 for a very short trip but fun. My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed our day out in this area.

Lovely open space. Big and by the river. Humans and dogs can swim as there are lots of little 'beaches'. Not sure if there are toilets but there is a children's play area. Feels like you are in the country

Went here over the Bank Holiday weekend, I’m new to this area and somone local said to check it out as we have a dog. It was great, loads of paths which we didn’t get to do but our dog loved it! There are also loads of benches and picnic areas! Highly recommend!

Chertsey Meads is a 41-hectare Local Nature Reserve located east of Chertsey in Surrey. It is an area of floodplain meadow on the bank of the River Thames, and is home to a variety of wildlife, including wildflowers, birds, and insects.

Attended the annual show. Very good as always although we missed the seats at the agility this year.

It's a large meadow with a stream running down in side. Good place to let the kids run around.

We like to use our paddle board and kayak here. It's good for dog walks too if your dog enjoys long grass.
