Castleton Farm Shop

Very nice place for a get together. The rain kept us mostly inside but they have an amazing play area for the kids as well. We will most definitely return in the summer.
I had the steak baguette, the sauce was amazing, but the steak was very dry. My husband the hamburger was really good.
Their pizzas are great sizes and very good.
It was the puddings that put me over the top. The lemon meringue was too die for and the banoffee is out of this world. I am excited to go back.

Absolutely spot on. Went here for lunch for my parents 60th wedding anniversary. The staff went way over and above the expected norm, giving us top notch service, some flowers for my parents, tastefully decorated puddings, and spending a significant amount of time making sure our lunch was as special as possible. Food was excellent, staff excelled themselves and the location was very pleasant indeed. I can remember this establishment arriving in its most basic form. Despite its challenges with road closures it has kept its head above and is still very much flying it's kite. If you want a great lunch, look no further. And the good news is, you can probably buy most of the ingredients for what you ate in a very well stocked farm shop under the same roof. Just great.

My wife and I recently had the Chinese Afternoon Tea. It was so tasty and a great twist on the traditional afternoon tea. All the food was fresh and full of flavour. It was good to try some desserts I may not have otherwise ordered, to discover how delicious they are. The serving was very generous. Service was friendly and efficient. We will definitely return to try one of the other themed afternoon teas.

We loved this place 🥰🐕 not only are the decorations nice and the winter garden a great place where you want to stay a while, also the food is outstanding, nicely decorated and delicious 🤤 the service is great and we can highly recommend coming here!! Also exploring the shop is worthwhile - we tested a few products and can recommend the berry salad sauce!

Excellent dining experience.
It's a must stop between Aberdeen and Dundee.
The place has a lovely vibe. Staff is super friendly, and the service is impeccable.
Food is delicious, we ordered sandwiches, macaroni, strawberry tart and some cakes, everything was good. Strawberry tart steals the show.
Selection of coffee is also very good.
Between May and September, visitors can also experience strawberry picking.

Unplanned stop that led to a great meal and picking up a few items from the shop. Oat milk smoothies are great!

Had a beautiful lunch with 3 friends. All had different dishes the food was delicious. My dish looked fab and the couple on the next table ordered it too. It tasted fantastic. (Beef noodle salad). The tray bakes and cakes are delicious. Lovely coffee. The service was brilliant and would not hesitate to recommend and return for more.

Fantastic place and beautiful setting especially the conservatory dining area. An outdoor play area for kids when they are done dining. Great staff and good service. The Steak Baguette with Chips was phenomenal. I would definitely be back again.

Plenty of options for food, everything we had was tasty. Mains, cakes and coffee, all a high standard. Good for kids with the play park and a nice farm shop attached as well, with plenty of goods

The service was lovely. The food was delicious and the strawberries were the sweetest we’ve ever had. We dined outside in the sunshine, and there was a fantastic playground for the kids, right next to the farm. They have a well deserved reputation!

Super experience at the Castleton farm - right from the food, to the service, to the ambiance. The portion sizes were big, the food was fresh and tasty. There's an outdoor play area for kids as well. Plenty of parking and very spacious over all. Would recommend 100% especially if you have kids.

Delicious lunch with some locally produced touches and home cooked feel, very busy which underlines the popularity. Good value too I thought.

I was lucky enough to win the prize of two pizzas - they were absolutely delicious and huge!! Best pizzas ever particularly the Cajun chicken pizza !!!

Superb lunch then a tour of the farm looking around the strawberries, raspberries, blueberries and cherries. Definitely worth a visit, burger was lovely.

Amazing little farm shop, the food at the cafe was delicious and the coffee was perfect!
I had a hot smoked salmon salad and the salad was so fresh with fruit from the farm. There is a fun park for children and there are high chairs if required. Very child friendly! The berries are to die for! Would highly recommend if you’re passing by to stop here!

Been going for years and this year just highlighted how good the food is in the Café. Peppered Steak Baguette was gorgeously juicy with medium fired steak cuts in the roll paired with caramelised onions. Not forgetting the rich, smooth & creamy peppercorn sauce to drizzle over (and enough leftover to dip the side of chips served with!).
The shop too is brilliant, farm produce from around the area and beyond as well as the homegrown Castleton berries, the results of Ross Mitchell's genius. Probably the finest berries Scotland has to offer. Coming here in the summer is a must. A+

Staff are very welcoming and helpful food is very good and reasonably priced

we were here for an afternoon tea for 14 people for someone's birthday. It was a busy afternoon and the shop managed easily cater for such a large party which included someone intolerant to gluten.

The food was all freshly made and the food offered for the price was well worth it.

It was so busy which made the restaurant very warm. Other than that it was fantastic.
