Interesting museum with its story in several languages. Self guided tour of the site, easy to follow with arrows marking the recommended route. Great place to visit if you like the ww2 history and the Atlantic Wall structures.

Very nice museum, very impressive bunker. Lots of authentic clothes and belongings. Well worth a visit. Took us about an hour to do the full tour.

I was not disappointed by this museum. The bunker itself is very interesting and there's a collection of war-related objects such as uniforms, vehicles and cannons. We spend about an hour here. We really appreciated that the signs were in English ánd Dutch, although there were some errors in the translation.

Great museum and well worth a visit..
Has one of only two in existence K5 cannons... one here and one in the USA. the museum has many historical pieces and factual information for you to see so you can easily spend a couple of hours here..
Large car park and toilet facilities outside of the museum... and a ticket and gift shop inside.

I know many people have already said it is well worth the visit, it really is. Don't be fooled by the exterior. Inside this bunker is a massive collection or artifacts on multiple floors. It seemed to go on forever. Make sure you follow the arrows so you don't miss anything. Everything is written in French, English and German. It's certainly a place I will visit again and it's just a short drive south along the coastal road from calais.

Another of the sites which should be encouraged to visit to remember what was done to secure our freedom.

A very interesting place, especially if you're looking at WW2 sites - this very well preserved site is definitely worth visiting. The German forces were certainly well organised... this huge gun station bombed England during WW2. See various displays and find out all about what happened here. Good value and definitely worth a visit!

Museum is in a preserved gun casement (casement number 1), one of the four cadements of the Todt gun battery.

It's a shame that the gun, once capable of hitiing southern England, is no longer there, but it allows more exhibit space!

Three levels of well presented info show life of navy personnel (Kriegsmarine) who crewed the batteries. Interesting WW2 German graffiti can be seen, some poking fun at Churchill, others are illustrated patriotic slogans. The original graffiti is/was in another casement.

Outside the museum are some more exhibits , most impressive the K5 railway gun which still points at England. There were eight of these mobile titans stationed in the Calais area.

The gun battery, inaugurated in February 1942, was originally designed to offer support for an invasion of England not as a defensive measure. The guns were huge 380mm naval weapons, the same as fitted on the Bismark and Tirpitz.

Few Allied ships were hit by the German coatal batteries (a Liberty ship on D-Day, a freighter in July 1944) but they provided covering fire, shortly after their inauguration, for German warships racing through the Channel into the North Sea, an engagement known ad the Channel Dash. Their impact on civilians in the Dover area was greater, resulting in 216 deaths.

The guns fired on Dover the last time on 29 September 1944 while under attack from Canadian forces. The Canadian assault resulted in the surrender of the whole battery.

It's worth checking out the other 2 casements nearby (numbers 2 and 4), all the same design. They're in reasonable shape still but it's not recommended going inside as they could be unsafe. Bring a torch if you do! Casement 3 was blown up in an accident by two French visitors in 1945!

Museum has a small shop with souvenirs and some specialist books in various languages about the Atlantic Wall generally.

One criticism would be that the museum doesn't look at the whole Atlantic Wall despite its name; it's very much focussed on the Todt Battery.

A word to the wise: don't arrive shortly before closing! As we came out at 5.29pm, a woman was refused admittance despite her protests that it wasn't too late! A curt Gallic "Non" ended the encounter seconds before the minute hand struck 5.30...

What a great place to visit if you love ww2.
The staff were very friendly and polite and expland what to do during our visit.
You get to walk around on your own following the arrows.
You could rush round in 35 mins or take your time and will take 120mins.
Toilets available.
You follow the arrows round.
I definitely recommend going here and it's not far from calais, about 20 mins.
Plenty of parking for cars and motorcycles.
Also there is a gift shop.

Full of a sad recent history show us how evil can be intelligent. It's a huge bunker with all the conditions to survive to almost everything. It took several days bombing the place for the Germans to surrender. It has a lot of artefacts from that sad time. A must-visit if you around Normandy for D Day knowledge.

Really nice place to understanad Alantic Wall. The treasured K5 is mazing, even I read it from books and made plastic model. The battery has couple bunkers aound and it is a nice place for walking around as well. You will enjoy the view. Near by, Audresselles is a very nice village to visit and enjoy lunch. Recommand you to visit it before 12 o'clock. Otherwise, it's too populer to park your car.

By far the most interesting museum of all the bunkers. Yes, you pay the admission fee, but you can go inside and see how actually was inside. Well worth the money.

Went with my 8 year old so. and the huge guns together with the well organised exhibits were engaging and fantastic! Loved it and was very glad we went... a private museum to boot so I feel great for supporting such a worthy museum!

An excellent battery museum with displays relating to the construction, operation and subsequent fall of the battery. Plus they have a massive railway gun on display outside.

A genuine surprise. We added this stop on a road trip up the coast. We didn't know too much about it, but the outside looked interesting. As we went through the bunker we learned a lot about it's relevance and it's significance in the war. A lot of the "lesser" stories are not told in high school history classes and movies, but are of equal importance. As a Canadian I was shocked to get to the end and learn Canada's role in seizing the batterie. Well worth the stop.
