I stayed here with a group of friends to celebrate a friends 60th Birthday. We had the most wonderful time, the accommodation and grounds were beautiful and we went on a couple of nice walks up in to the hills and through the local town. Antoinette is a fantastic host and her cooking skills are incredible. Ask her to make you a mushroom risotto.....or a curry... Amazing! My mouth is watering when I write this. The rooms are lovely, plenty of space for us all, plenty of parking, very clean and tidy! 10/10 from me :-)

Back in the UK after spending 4 nights here. My friend had hired out the whole house for a week and invited loads of friends to relax together. Beautiful house and grounds with lovely swimming pool. All the bedrooms were stylishly presented and comfortable to a high standard. The kitchen/dinning room was well equipped and the perfect environment for leisurely meals with friends, with there being additional lounge rooms inside and table and chairs outside as well. Antionette the owner was so welcoming and knew exactly what was needed. I can’t recommend this enough.

I just spent the most beautiful four days here, so well looked after in a detox retreat with heart work retreats, not that you felt you were detoxing, delicious food, drinks and things to do. For the first time in a long time I am waking up not stiff and energised after gentle doable yoga sessions and amazing wild swimming, I would do again at the drop of a hat. Thank you so much 🙏🙏🙏

We stayed at les Marguerites as part of a larger multi-family group so had the whole house and grounds to ourselves. Antoinette gave us a warm welcome & tour of the house. The house was very clean and for car drivers there is plenty of parking. The property and grounds are imposing - on the edge of a compact medieval village. The village is surrounded by mountains and has an ancient source of thermal springs.
The bedrooms are a good size and ours had an en-suite bathroom. The bathroom was well stocked. The room had striking views across the village to the mountains. The kitchen is large and again was well supplied with modern facilities. There is a utility room and indoor and outdoor drying space. There was plenty of chairs & tables to allow meals to be taken outside. There was also a good size indoor dining table.
There was a well stocked TV room, which we did not need to use as the weather was good. The bookshelves were well stocked with an eclectic mix of reading material.
There are plenty of places to visit and a local bus service for non drivers. There is kayaking available locally and a local open-air pool, filled with local spring water, open mid-June to the end of August.
The pool at the property is a good size & filled with the local spring water and was very welcome especially on the very hot days. Antoinette ensured that it was clean and checked the water quality on a regular basis.
We would have no hesitation in recommending les Marguerites as a relaxing, well situated, 'whole house' holiday.

Wonderful, relaxing, stay that can't be faulted in any way. Everything is top quality from the food to the decor to the hospitality. Antoinette and Keith are the perfect hosts. Warm and considerate. Can't recommend Les Marguerites highly enough.

Such amazing stays over the years. The family who own the establishment are such nice people. The breakfasts in the sun lit garden is brilliant. All the croissants and other pastries are beautifully made at a local bakery. The rooms are spacious and well decorated. Les Marguerites well deserved the 5 star review.

Just spent 3 lovely days at Les Marguerites. Antoinette and Keith were great hosts who couldn’t do enough to make us welcome and treat us as part of the family. She’s an excellent cook and prepared lovely meals.

Excellent base for carcassone and the Pyrenees

I returned to Les Marguerites this month after 2 long years and felt the worries of those years just melt away as I walked into the house and was welcomed by Antoinette, Keith and the family with a glass of the local blanquette.
I stayed in Room 4, which has been beautifully redecorated and now has a comfortable sofa as well as the luxurious bed and the huge bathroom with that amazing claw footed bath as well as a shower.
We started every day with a wonderful breakfast of fresh eggs, baguette and amazing croissants and pastries and spent our days visiting the local cities old and new of Carcassonne, markets in Mirepoix and sat in the square of Limoux drinking coffee.
Sadly the weather wasn’t good enough to take advantage of the new pool which looked so inviting and I cant wait to return again soon!

The term 'French fairy tale’ gets bandied about quite a lot these days, especially when it comes to wedding venue taglines and targeted advertising… but with Les Marguerites, I can safely say (along with a rejoicing 80 wedding guests) that the title is more than deserved, and so very genuine. The sheer charm and natural beauty of the setting coupled with the rustic majesty of the house and gardens is enough to make you think you’ve stepped back in time, Proust-style, or through the silver screen into a bygone era of cinematic French escapism. And all this is down to the dreams, creativity, dogged hard work and care of the hosts, Antoinette, Keith and their wonderful family. Our wedding at Les Marguerites this past September was made all the more special by their positivity, can-do attitudes, adaptability and joy. And I haven’t even mentioned the food – Oh, THE FOOD! It was a banquet feast of chef Antoinette’s sumptuous creations, all from locally-sourced organic ingredients, with her trademark middle-eastern-inspired twists. I’m salivating just thinking back. Several of our guests had the pleasure of staying in the house itself, a 19th Century villa that has been lovingly and sympathetically restored by the hosts, and every one of them felt so looked-after, comfortable, and welcomed into the stylish, spotless and elegant accommodation – the new pool being a real plus. I could go on for pages and pages, but I will end just by saying – thank you. Antoinette, Keith, and family – we will never forget this magical day, or your kindness, patience (!), grace and sense of fun. It was everything we wanted, and so much more. Do not miss this gem of a place on your Carcassonne/Limoux/Languedoc travels!

A most delightful place. We were there to photograph the wedding of an English couple, the service being held in nearby Limoux, and the reception at Les Marguerites. Quintessentially English in a very French setting and style - superb. The service was low-key but perfect, the food wonderful - nothing over the top, just gentle, well prepared and presented. We stayed the night in a wonderful room, very French, and relished the breakfast of fresh sun warmed fruit, pastries, bread and scrambled eggs.
We hope to go again.

Simply an amazing and beautiful secret escape. The restored 18th century house is stunning. Most importantly, Antoinette and Keith are just the perfect hosts - warm and welcoming, a real delight to spend time with and get to know. You are made to feel like their house is your own! And Antoinette's cooking is just delightful. Would highly recommend .....indeed we hope to go back ourselves too!

A beautiful, well decorated garden, great service, and every single dish was great. Not normally a tikka masala fan but I absolutely loved it. The brownie was perfect as well

And the cats make good dinner guests!

Antoinette, Keith and family were so friendly and accommodating. The house is absolutely beautiful and lovely garden to relax in. Perfect place to get away from busy life, would suit families, couples and groups, particularly if you enjoy cycling and walking.

A lovely restaurant we chanced on just past the old abbey in a gorgeous little town outside Limoux. Friendly, family run place offering tasty, honest food in their beautiful garden setting. Lots for vegetarians and pescatarians and for the Sunday roast lovers too. Highly recommend.

Beautiful villa in a lovely medieval village. Great accomodation for a couple of days in South of France. Super easy drive from Carcassonne airport. Excellent base for visiting nearby towns and castles. Peaceful and beautiful, great breakfast and dinner. Great time to go in October. Lovely autumn weather, perfect for sightseeing and hiking. English and French speaking hosts. Stress free holidays.

Excellent tea on Sunday afternoon in a picturesque setting. Curry and movie nights are appealing and we will try them. Owners Antoinette and Frank deserve success with their warm attention to guests. Thank you.

Stopped here for lunch and ended up staying three hours! What a wonderful place to eat, relax and rest. This was the first place this trip that veggie me had a choice. Thank you to our hosts for a great experience.

One of my favorites for a traditional Sunday lunch since it first opened and still offers a great meal with a nicely varied menu. I can highly recommend this restaurant's quality home cooking.

Have just attended a exceptional ‘curry evening’ just one of the many events organised by Antoinette & Keith. Always a welcoming atmosphere, great fun and excellent food.

Spent 2 days this June. Rearranged our itinerary to return and spend more time. Small country hotel in quiet village with wonderful energetic feel. Food and service unparalleled.
