Café du Minck

Always a warm friendly welcome. A real old Calais pub with a good vibe. It has a basic charm, very popular with the locals. Full of chatter. Great fun and heaving for Beaujolais Nouveau.

A charming cafe where the staff great us with a handshake or fist bump. Delicious local beer, (feels quite strong)

I have visited this place off and on since 2000. Great locals bar opposite the fresh fish stalls in the port, just up from the main street.

The atmosphere is pure Calais French. The fact that the owners don't speak English (as mentioned by another reviewer) should only reassure you that you are not in some tourist trap. I would be interested to know how many landlords in Dover speak French?

Good selection of wines by the glass and a local beer on tap. Come in smile, shake a few hands and enjoy real northern French hospitality

This place is charming. The owner came over to shake our hand once we sat down and took our order. Drinks were reasonably priced - two beers, glass of wine and a diet coke came to €12.

Be prepared for the regulars to come round the tables on arrival and shake your hand. It took us by surprise initially but after the 5th person shook our hand and said hello we just went with the flow. Such a great thing to do - the world needs more places like this!

Quand je passe à Calais, il n'y a pas d'autre choix possible. Je passe par le Café du Minck. Les patrons sont systématiques. La clientèle est familiale. La décoration est d'époque avec quelques perles. Je ne poste que quelques photos. Allez-y !!! Et si vous avez une casquette ou un képi, il prendra place au-dessus du bar. Le parking est aisé et gratuit. Vous êtes à 10 secondes du marché aux poissons.

Super accueil, bistrot à la décoration originale et au personnel très sympathique. Bonne ambiance. Merci pour cette parenthèse, nous reviendrons pour vous faire connaître à nos proches !

Superbe café en bout de quai à Calais, avec une belle âme intérieure. Accueil vraiment très gentil.
Nous y avons pris un verre par hasard et cela a rendu notre visite de la ville encore plus agréable.
Vaut clairement un détour pour y passer une heure ou plus. Merci !

Magnifique endroit. Animé par de "vrais gens" qui vous saluent quand vous arrivez. L'accueil du Nord dans ce qu'il a de plus beau. C'est chaleureux et vivant.
