Grand Cafe Barretta

Pleasant eating experience on a relaxed open air terrace (it was early September). We opted for fixed price classic French 'plate de jour' lunch options (seafood, fish, veal, season vegetables) and some local wine. Simple, unpretentious dishes made of quality ingredients. Cordial service, good value for money. Would come again.

Lovely restaurant in a small square in the middle of old town Avignon. Service was great and attentive, food is excellent and a good variety, staff spoke good English and the place is defo popular with locals as well as with tourists.

In the shade of a beautiful tree we shaded from the hot afternoon sun at a classic bistro. Great authentic French food priced very reasonably, a good wine menu with many local additions, and kind and helpful service. Seemed to be amidst locals - always a good sign - who warmly helped us with the wine choice. Enjoyed this very much.

Very pretty cafe in Place Didier square. We come here often for their delicious coffee and croissants. Very pleasant staff.

This place is cute and quant. You walk past it and seat yourself on one half of the patio. From there you relax and they eventually come around. For breakfast they gave you a menu. Everything was good and reasonable

Unfortunately they ran out of croissants before we got there.

This is THE hidden gem inside the city centre! A superb lunch and wine list. We loved the artichoke entree and main, tender chicken with asparagus special! Beautiful menu with an outstanding team! Superb!

My wife and I visited Avignon were fortunately led to this gem of a restaurant on the place Saint Didier by our host here in town. The presence of this lovely corner of France is where the magic begins and the dinner waiting inside for us made us come back multiple times while in Avignon. The lamb dish, the trout, the chicken and then the entrecote, which was the best I've had in France in the past 20 years. The staff were very professional and very kind and engaging as well as very busy. It is a locals dream and we are so glad to have found it. We hope to return again and again. Perfection.

Very nice café and restaurant, cozy inside, with a large terrace on Saint Didier church square. It has a fine selection of second hand books mostly about films and music, which you can read and buy there
