We had an amazing time on our snowmobile tour with Janne.

We felt very safe and a loads of fun on the river and in the forest.

Can only recommend a tour!

We booked the 3.5-hour snowmobile safari, and it was an amazing experience!

During the first part of the safari, you ride your snowmobile on a frozen river, where you can really speed up. The second half is through the forest, where you can enjoy the beautiful nature.

Markus is an excellent guide. He explains everything well and clearly, and adapts to his clients. If you want to go fast, you can, and if you prefer to go slower, that's fine too. Furthermore, he can tell you everything about the nature, the country, and of course, the snowmobile.

The great advantage is that you are only with a small group, so you don't have to wait much.

We cannot thank Janne and Markus enough for this incredible experience. They did everything to ensure we saw the northern lights: they rescheduled the tour when there were no chances of seeing the northern lights, and when the tour took place the next day, they drove us to three different locations to try and get clear skies even if this meant the tour would last over an hour longer at no extra cost!! It was a success and we saw wonderful northern lights. Janne's expertise is top notch and he knows just where to go to get you to see the lights. We also enjoyed the hot juice to warm us up and the pick service from kakslauttanen :) Cannot recommend this tour enough!!

There are Aurora Lights chasers and then there is Northern Lights Riders. It's always hard to select the best experience provider but I can say, without a doubt, you have found the best one this side of Finland. They go out of their way to help you see the lights...to the extend that they will even let you know that they'd rather move your trip to the next day if they are not sure that the odds will be greatly in your favor to see what you came for instead of just taking your money. No chasing clouds and pre-determined parking spots. Every trip is shaped according to the weather and the probability of where the lights might show up that night. These are people who actually care about your experience and providing you with the best possible chance. Stop searching, you have found your best bet. Love these guys.

Janne and the team are amazing! When we called them in the afternoon the weather conditions were not that good and the power of northern lights was down. But when they pick us up and start the tour something happens and weather conditions get totally different, as they predicted. Markus and Tuomas found the open sky up of Petsikko where we saw the beautiful lights.
Moreover, the day after we did the tour again and Janne brought us in his mum backyard where we saw the best Aurora ever!

We booked the Northern Lights Safari tour by car despite the Aurora forecast was non good and the sky was cloudy. But thanks to the experience of the guides we find a good spot with clean sky and we saw a spectacular northern lights explosion! Great experience!

Our Aurora chase tours, snowmobiling and Altai skiing experiences were all done with Northern Light Riders and we say without a doubt that these were the best memories of our trip to Finland! Embarking on a snowmobile adventure in the winter wonderland past 8pm was nothing short of exhilarating. The snowmobiles were top-notch, offering a smooth and reliable ride across the 30-35km snowy terrain. Safety was clearly a priority for Markus, with well-maintained equipment and thorough briefings that Markus provided. The trails were diverse, weaving through stunning forests and over frozen lakes, presenting breathtaking views at every turn. We got lucky and saw some reindeer’s. Thanks Markus for making this an unforgettable experience. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a winter thrill in a safe and beautiful environment.

The aurora hunting trip was canceled due to weather on three occasions.
Communication with them was constant, looking for the best day to go out and be able to see the auroras that the clouds prevented us from.
The last attempt was positive thanks to Tuomas who drove km and km looking for a good area.
We also did a snowmobile night safari with Tuomas which was very fun, great guide Tuomas.

The whole team of northern light riders is amazing. We did many tours with them (husky ride, snow mobile tour, northern lights hunting and altai ski). Especially regarding catching northern lights Janne did everything possible trying to catch a glimpse. Definitely recommend booking tours with northern light riders.

Janne is just a wonderful person. So full of life and it made the entire Northern light Safari more lively and fun.
He knows just where to take the people to spot Northern lights. We saw the lights for more than 30 mins with a clear sky and that was the first spot he took us!

Janne's team really out in effort to hunt auroras for us despite the terribly cloudy situation. We went to many places just to find the aurora during the trip. The team are also friendly.

We had the privilege to be guided by Janne himself. The man is a legend. He absolutely went the extra mile to get the job done. It was an unforgettable experience.

Details:
- The booked day was very cloudy so he called us hours earlier with an option to do it tomorrow or refund.
- Hot drinks.
- Took tons of photos. Sent them in original resolution in less than 12h later.
- Parked at multiple spots to get the best view and photos.
- Picked us up from the hotel and drove us 100km and 100km back in order to make it happen. Total trip time was more than 4 hours long.
- Expert level car driver on rough conditions (like all Finns though).

A truly amazing snowmobile experience hosted by Janne. We had a blast, and the whole process from planning to doing the activity was smooth, with him accommodating us and trying to find the activities we requested for just one day in advance.

The experience itself was great too, Janne shared many interesting facts with us, and at the same time, seemed more like a friend than a tour guide.

All in all, great experience with wonderful energy by the hosts of Northern Lights Riders, would totally recommend this company for those looking for a fun adventure!

Janne with Northern Lifhts Riders is THE man for you if you want to see Northern Lights in Ivalo, Inari, Saariselkä and surrounding areas. Janne does not leave for a tour if you can‘t expect to see something. Had to cancel our tour a few times but finally the sky opened up and we went on a tour. Janne is so passionate and knowledgeable about the lights and doesn‘t stop until you see them. Took us all the way to the border of Norway in the north. Janne is a really fun guy - found not just a guide but a true friend in Lapland! We will be back for sure and wouldn’t book anywhere else but with Northern Lights Riders!

Greatest respect and appreciation to Janne, Kuri and the team here for how they operate. They put customers before money and really try to give you the best experience possible. If you want the best chance of seeing the Northern Lights, then look no further. They are professionals in what they do and will go to any length to find/chase the lights for you, they work in a team actively tracking the live conditions and moving accordingly. Many other companies simply will not do this as it is a lot more traveling and just sit in one spot for hours.. Thanks again and hope to see you guys in the future for other tours.

Kari from Northern Lights Riders is relentless in finding the Northern Lights.

We tried another operator first and there's day and night difference between them and Northern Lights Riders. The other operator didn't put in any efforts in finding the lights.

Kari knew exactly where to find the lights. He doesn't shy away from waiting for the lights at a particular place. I would recommend him 100 percent to anyone looking to hunt the beautiful lights.

I truly adore this local company because it shows the passion to us! I’ve joined 3 tours with my boyfriend in the trip and it gave us a remarkable experience in life. The northern light hunting tour was a surprise to us because we thought we had no hope in hunting the northern light due to cloudy And foggy weather but they still managed to drive us to the north to hunt for the lights and took us a lot of professional photos with their camera! I’ve also joined the 4 hours husky ride tour and 6 hours snowmobile tour that were really fun. We got to enjoy the beautiful view slowly in the husky ride and took some pictures with camera. For snowmobile tour, it’s full of excitement and we climbed up to the mountain where the skiing resort is. We had an amazing salmon soup there and it warmed our body! Thanks Janne for being an amazing boss! Your employee Mattias was very helpful and kind during our snowmobile tour! I would highly recommend taking tours from Northern Lights Riders! :)

From the minute we were picked up the service was incredible! The team is super friendly, and know what they are doing. Most importantly, they are enthusiastic about what they do! They get excited about seeing the lights, as much as us tourists do, and know precisely where to go. They drove us out to some secluded areas, and we were seeing the lights from the beginning of the tour already. By the end of the tour, we saw magnificent dancing lights! It was an experience I will never ever forget.

Absolutely recommended. I joined them for the 3.5h Snow mobile safari. Excellent service and equipment. Janne is a very friendly and jolly person. Our guide Harri was very friendly and knowledgable as well. The safari was beginner friendly, but more experienced drivers could enjoy themselves as well.
