Simien Lodge

Amazing stay, the view is worth every part of the uphill road. Also the service staff is very friendly and helpful!

We stayed at simien lodge it was an exceptional property rooms were very good food was exotic it had spectacular sunset and sunrise it was very cold during the night and early morning nothing can beat the location staff were so helpful and the manager was very friendly the best lodge that we could ever find inside a national park

Probably the most impressively located hotel that I have ever stayed in. The views at sunset and at sunrise are incredible, and in the afternoon if you’re lucky then troupes of gelada will roll through. The food is exceptional (really!) and the staff are obliging and very friendly. A note should be added to state that owing to the altitude and location, there are some downsides: during our stay the main power was out as far as debark down in the valley and the generator could only be run intermittently during the morning and evening. It is also cold at night and early in the morning, especially when the clouds cover the ridge. The water in the showers is always hot thanks to the solar panels, but the heating in the rooms is limited - dress for the mountains !

We just arrived today. This is a small lodge in Simien Mountains National Park. It is run on an environmentally sustainable basis. It is quite small. There are individual rooms built as thatch roofed cabins. There is a main lodge with a bar and dining room. Wifi is available only in the main lodge. The view all around is fantastic. It is a base for visiting the park, so can be difficult to book. It has its own generator for the times when the power goes off.

It was a plesure to visit Africas highest hotel. You need to watch the sunset and even more the sunrise. The Lodges are located close to the entrance of the simien mountain national park. And it was a realy greate experiance. The Lodges are rally nice, clean (compared to african standard), well equiped and offer good food. The Service was one of the beste we experienced in our three week roundtrip.
Be aware of the tempreture dropping a lot at night time due to the altitude of 3300 m. You will need some warm clothes ;-)
Sure the prices are much higher here than outside the national park and closer to normal infrastructure. But if you visit this place it normaly is not because of the nice rooms but because of the estonishing natrure out in the park.

このロッジは、とても印象的なロッジです。

実は、ここに着く前から、不調で、着いてすぐ、バタンキューでしたが、他の友達に寄りますと、ロッジからの夕日が、最高! ビュッフェディナーも、朝食も美味しかったとそうです。私は、スープダイエットでしたが、とても、美味しかったです。お部屋は、公園の中にしては、設備が整っていました。夜は、冷えますが、分厚い毛布があったので、暖かったです。泊まったのは、1月上旬でした。お昼間は、ハイキング行きましたが、日差しも強く、熱いくらいでした。私は、薄手のTシャツと、長袖の重ね着で、調整しました。GAdventureと言うグループツアーで参加しましたが、このホテルは、大正解。2泊は、すべきですね。ハイキングを、予定通り、して欲しかったです。とても、もったいなかった。

Die Lodge war fantastisch! Der Manager war sehr zuvorkommend und hat uns einen Studenten-Rabatt gegeben. Das Essen (Frühstück, Lunch-Packs und Abendessen) war auch sehr gut; am Besten nach der Äthiopischen Karte fragen (-;

Die Wandertouren durch den Semien Mountains National Park sind unglaublich; einer der spektakulärsten Orte auf diesem Planeten. Die Guides der Lodge waren auch super!

Alles in allem, 5/5, unbedingt da hin!
