As always the proprietors of Hotel Al Lago and their restaurant deliver a first rate afternoon lunch. Vibrant and fresh, the salads were delicate and amazing. Lamb shank for lunch? Sure! Tender and succulent fails to adequately describe the meat, it was amazing. I can never pass up a taco and the black bean tacos were among the best I’ve ever had. That all of the greens are fresh and grown locally makes it even more spectacular. Bravo!

Excellent restaurant serving delicious food with a varied menu. Not to mention the amazing views of the lake and mountains that can be enjoyed from the terrace.
The menu includes great vegetarian options, something which is not easy to find in this area, and one of the only places to offer something different and more modern compared to the others. Food quality was excellent and the menu was very reasonably priced. There are also plenty of options for breakfast, from healthier options like kefir with homemade granola to pancakes, or eggs on toast with a wide choice of extra toppings.
Service has been excellent throughout our meals. All staff were very friendly and approachable, and saw to our every need.

Had a wonderful meal at this warm and inviting restaurant. Food was excellent and served hot. Good variety for a vegetarian, meat eater, and a teenage picky eater. Service was good, attentive, friendly. Highly recommend.

Incredible restaurant worth more than 5 stars if it were possible! The view is so stunning it barely even needs such great food, but they pulled through, with perfect meals tying the whole experience together into a marvel. As a vegetarian, I have struggled finding food which I could properly enjoy in this region, but I had the vegetarian cold tapas for a starter and vegetable paella for the main (pictured). The cold tapas was spectacular; my whole family (none of whom except me are vegetarian) enjoyed it thoroughly, and the paella was better than any fish one I’ve previously had. For dessert I had the chocolate torte, which had such a rounded and full flavour, as well as sangria for the table. This place has stuff to offer for everyone, and the staff are refreshingly friendly and welcoming - chatty and cheerful, making the entire visit a treat! Definitely worth a visit if anywhere near Zahara :)

Truly incredible food. Amazing flavours and perfect portion sizes. We had two starters to share between four of us (the grilled vegetables with cheese and the vegetarian tapas) and the flavours and freshness was exceptionally good. I had the chef special, the duck for mains and it was extremely delicious. Overall a lovely vibe with an amazing view, exceptionally delicious food, a great vibe and lovely service. Thank you so much to Al Lago for such a memorable and lovely meal!

Lunch with a great view! Venison Stew and braised Iberian pork cheeks. Octopus grilled starter. Exceptional quality. Great service. Worth the trip! A foodie stop for sure.

We went for breakfast - technically served out of the Bar, I think. Nice outdoor seating with a beautiful view. The food was fantastic - coffee was great. Even the kids were happy. The view is amazing - I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it!

The food and the service were amazing! We especially enjoyed black rice with sea food and dark chocolate mousse with oranges.

Food quality of the highest standard and a wide variety to suit our vegetarian needs. The service has been great, very friendly and responsive. The dining experience is out of this world considering the spectacular views overlooking the lake and mountain range.

Quaint little place with a nice view of the lake. I had two tapas and a cervesa for 4.50. Lovely staff. I'll come back to try the food.
