We were able to attend a private ceremony and the feeling of being close to his remains was great

Beautiful, more than 1000 years old church in unbelievably good condition. It has seat-heating as well, so you can enjoy it comfortably even during the chilly Leon winters.

This was great. The entrance was just outside the courtyard of our hotel and when we walked outside along the walls of the city we looked to our room as ot is the same building.
I believe it was 5/6€.
There is a QR code for an audio guide or they have laminated sheets in SP/EN/FR.
There is a walk through the cloisters with several rooms displaying objects, the Pantheon with its decorated ceilings and a visit to the cathedral.
Upstairs was one more room and the wall walk.
Definitely worth the visit.

the church and museum next door are a must see (you can see original integral 11th century frescos, never reconditioned or moved + 10-12th century iluminated bibles)

Beautiful Basílica with a lot of history. We were able to attend a special mass with a choir of nuns to celebrate that a new nun was taking her bows. The plaza in front of the church is very beautiful too.

Nice and quiet basilica. Final resting place of St Isidore of Seville can also be found there.

The Basilica of San Isidoro is one of the most outstanding buildings in Leon. Built in Romanesque style it houses the Basilica that keeps the relics of San Isidoro de Sevilla, a monastery that is today an incredible charm hotel with rooms around its cloister, a museum and below the Royal Pantheon, one of the first examples of Romanesque Art in Castile. In addition to its architectonic value, there is a collection of frescoes , which can be said to convert it into the Sistine Chapel of the Romanesque period. A superb opportunity to contemplate frescoes of great quality and extension in situ. Under the same structure was located the first European parliament under the ancient kingdom of Leon, over 1100 years old .

The museum having a separate entrance from the church is a hidden gem, with a well documented holy grail and well preserved Romanesque fresco lively presenting the belief of medieval Christians of the realm. Visit only with guided tour. Photography strictly prohibited.

Gorgeous Basilika, Romananic Style, large Dimensions for the period. Beautiful very basically decorated, giving room to admire construction and ample masonry. Lovely Place in Front and recommendable Hotel in the back of the Basilika. Touristically a 1in a Million Ensemble

The museo and pantheon tour in English was fantastic. Really informative and the library of ancient books and the paintings in the pantheon were great to see. The basilica is beautiful.

It is a fine and historic building there is a good old library and it was a burial place for the old kings and Queens of Leon when it was a London, it is also said that the real grial is kept here but again there are many places claiming this. It is said that Doña Urraca ( one of the queens) used it as a drinking glass but I haven't really read much about it, however, it might be some interesting research to do.
San Isidoro,s church is in the old quarter of Leon near the cathedral, an interesting area to visit.

A pre 1300's creation with reasoning and rich historical life, Commissioned by Ferdinand the 1st King of Spain, the Basílica currently houses the Kings of Leon tombs. Now a museum, is essentially the pinnacle as well as the oldest portion of a multistrucured (cathedral, monestary, hostel, hospital, hotel, school, governing buildings, courtyards, plazas, historical housing, galleries, authentic restaurants and bars, midevil markets, plazas surrounded by it's walled defense) area of downtown León and is a UNESCO world heritage site/town and has had various fascinating functions during it's 700 year existence.. Multiple days may be needed to thoroughly enjoy and visit the various pieces of rich cultural and historical venues it encompasses. Though the basilica itself was a must see for me.. greyT end to GoT is the reality of history inside it's walls that ended the dark ages.
