Amazing food and service! Their roasted chicken is so delicious! A must-go in Madrid! The atmosphere is also fantastic. Like a travel back in time. Prices are very reasonable. I would for sure recommend it!

Perfect, savory roasted chicken. If you can swing it, eat at the bar—a full bird costs about 13€ at the table and 8€ if you’re standing… and you’re going to eat it all in under 10 minutes anyway. I love pairing this with their leafy salad, which is simple but good, and their housemade sidra. The sidra comes in dulce or natural, both are great.

I often say a lot of things happened in 1888 and one of them was the opening of Casa Mingo. No one could help the rain nor its popularity after decades of success and the line that wrapped around the block out of curiosity. The food was basic rotisserie chicken but the atmosphere was unique and the service was fast considering their overwhelming success. If you add to this the little church next door which has the distinction of being the burial site of the artist Goya and seeing the fresco said he did in that chapel in a very unpretentious environment I'm sure that there is mutual benefit from the proximity.

This place was suggested by another restaurant to try the chicken, sausage and the sidra. We followed instructions and ordered all 3 of these items and OMG, it was all delicious. The staff is very friendly and the service is super fast. I highly recommend this place!

Oh Boy! This is the best seasoned chicken! Juicy and tender. I literally could have eaten a whole chicken by myself, but as a good mother, I shared it with my family (on vacation from The States). Not only is the roasted chicken on point, but the chorizo... OMG! It's excellent. The flavor is out of this world! The atmosphere is casual, friendly staff, and yes, 5 Star Rating for the Food! I do have to apologize, I was so hungry, I'd started eating before I realized I needed to take pictures. I know my plate is not picture worthy, but trust me, the food is wonderful!
If you order the chorizo, they will bring you a bottle of their homemade cider. If the bottle is too much, you can ask for a glass instead. The cider is refreshing 😉 by the time we left, there was a line forming outside. I can understand why! Be sure to come early if you can!
*One special note: the pricing is different for the food. If you sit at the bar, it's cheaper than sitting at a table. The difference can range between 2 euros to 5 euros.

Roast chicken here is simple, sublime and just what you were looking for. The cabrales cheese is worth trying but it is not for the faint of heart. Go once and you’ll find yourself saying soon… “Casa Mingo?”

A nice location, really polite service. I asked for something traditional and took the Pollo. Ample portion for up to 3 people! 😁.. The price is really fair for the amount of food.

A trip to Madrid isn’t complete without pollo asado. @casa_mingo served us up the most tastiest roast chicken on this planet. I’m not sure what they put on the skin but it’s tasty as hell 😍

I recently dined at Casa Mingo, a historic restaurant with over a century of legacy in Madrid. The quality of their food is outstanding, particularly their renowned chicken, which lives up to its reputation. I was also impressed by their chorizo al vino and tortilla española. I'll certainly return on my next visit to Madrid.

In a world filled with flavorless and textureless chicken, Casa Mingo truly proves that the exception makes the rule — this quaint nook hidden in the streets of Madrid ineffably marries the lively Spanish nature of its home-fermented cider with its world class poultry. I will not speak of the crackling skin, though its constitution carries the savor reminiscent of a ray of light on a sun-speckled rock; I will not speak of the succulent breast, which in its very nature defies all reason in its delivery; nor will I dare to mention the accompanying cider, which while in solitude presents a clever foil of Iberian history, but when in union with the chicken delivers an unparalleled experience of flavor and function. What I will mention, in lavish detail, are evocations that elude description yet at the same transcend meaning. The comfort of a home-cooked meal — the warm embrace of a long-lost, but newly found, friend — the unbridled joy of falling in love with someone for the first time — these all pale in comparison to the gustatory rapture I experienced in this place. I will laud the cuisine, the artistry, the divine providence that is Casa Mingo until I breathe my last breath.

Best cider I’ve tasted. Most people ordered the roast chicken which is simply amazing! I would recommend the Russian salad (potato, tuna). It goes really well with the Cider and bread.
Service not fantastic but acceptable. I’m a tourist who doesn’t speak Spanish and being served by a bunch of senior waiters who does not speak english.
When there are language barriers there’s definitely bound to have mismatch of expectations, I’m perfectly fine with that.
Just go for the food and drinks!

It’s epic! Roasted chicken, bread, salad and sweet apple cider! Was exactly the same when I was there the first time in 1981!!

Our favourite spot for an afternoon meal with friends, very casual, very authentic, and the natural cider is absolutely unbelievable. Always worth waiting in the queue.

If you are looking for an authentic experience, this is the place to be! They are very famous for their chicken (pollo asado), but on their manu there are plenty of traditional recipes. Service is fast and prices are affordable. Try their sweet and natural apple cider!

Come only if you wish to eat roasted chicken and drink cider. The best in the city! Basic salads, but good quality. Typical place of Austurias region. The waiters will teach you how to pour cider. That's fun. Don't be shy and keep trying :-)) You can visit the church of St.Antonio de Florida with paintings of Goya and his grave before going to Casa Mingo. It's right cross the street.

Reasonable prices, delicious food, the cider is a must. Short-waiting time even if you go at prime-time. The service was very nice as well. Family friendly beautiful location, no wonder, it is one of the oldest restaurants in the city. Open since 1888.
