Best Tapas bar in San Pedro - been coming to spain for years and been all over San Pedro, this place in a hidden gem. Amazing food, great selection of wine and run by lovely people. Reasonable too. Not to be missed!!!

Amazing tapas restaurant. Food was great and the staff were super friendly and service minded. The owner even came and suggested to put together a selection of dishes for us - saying yes to that was a good decision. And of course limoncello on the house. Great value for this area.

The food at El Candil de San Pedro was exceptional. It was our first meal in Marbella as we wanted something more authentic than what the city centre had to offer and it did not disappoint! Everything was delicious and very authentic. The owner was also so hospitable and treated us as if we were his family. Highly recommend!

The food at El Candil is always excellent and this visit was no exception. We have been patronising this restaurant since it first opened and it is great to see how it has developed into one of San Pedro's top eateries.
Unfortunately the place is so popular now that a little of the "personal touch" has gone. Yeah I realise that everyone has to earn a living and that as places become increasingly popular the stress on owners/staff increases but to be honest in the days when Alfonso was "the menu" things were so much better.
Still great - just not so relaxed.

Fantastic food and service, best cheese cake ever!

A birthday with 4 of us. Very lovely e ending outside. Great food and amazing wine sourced from a family vineyard. This is the feel of family and friends. ♥

One of our best holiday dinners. Two families, 10 in total with an eclectic range of tastes...but nothing was too much trouble, the food is amazing, the service is so friendly and engaging. Add in some humour wind-up and magic (seriously) and I would doubt you will find better.
Might concern you that there is no menu and no prices.... don't be, anything you don't like they take back.
Just go - it is that good.

Have visited this restaurant a few times and it never disappoints. Is it the food? The wine? The atmosphere or the absolute friendliness of the owner..its not 1 of those it's ALL of them. A gem in the heart of San pedro.

Alfonso is the perfect host. Food is excellent, and service is beyond excellent, just the perfect place to enjoy an evening !!

Our favourite place in San Pedro for tapas. There is no menu so you get what they have; the food is simple but honest and of excellent quality. The atmosphere is extraordinary because of the very friendly owner.
And during the meal you may even see a magic trick or two performed by his son.

Alfonso has to be one of the best restaurants in San Pedro,for food service,and value for money. Won't disappoint. Tell him your a friend of Jimmy's.

We had traditional Spanish tapas, and felt so welcome. A great family run place. So glad we managed to get a table, thanks to a quiet chilly night before the elections.
Everything was a delight.

When there is passion and love involved you can see and feel it. Very friendly host and lovely place. There isn't really menu to choose from but if you are new to tapas the host has preplanned tapas selection which you can expand if you want.

This was one of the highlights of our trip: very nice atmosphere, cosy outdoor seating, super delicious food whereas you get nice surprises as you don't know what is coming next.

To top it off an Elvis impersonator popped over from the hole in the wall bar from across the street to sing some songs.

Great restaurant, with lovely food and ambiance. Not the traditional tapas, but all dishes were fantastic.
