Boutique Hotel Finca el Tossal

I think the owners of this hotel should be applauded as I think they have just about got everything perfect.
The location: set high amongst this nispero plantations with long ranging views over the majestic mountains, countryside and to the distant Mediterranean.
The Hotel: Rustic with a touch of class. Certainly not too formal that you feel you need to dress up. Relaxed is the vibe. Outdoor seating for the warmer months and cozy indoor restaurant when not. Lovely pool area with huge and hot jacuzzi.
The room: loved it, 4 poster bed, stunning bathroom with feature bath and separate shower and twin sinks. Double doors leading to grass lawn with views (room 5).
The food: we were at the hotel on a Sunday and Monday evening. On Sunday evening the Chef has the night off, however the food provided was of equal quality on either evening. We are slightly more difficult to accommodate being vegan, but this was zero issue to the owners and they produced, wonderful fresh tasty food on both evenings. The breakfast each morning offered a great choice along with fresh coffee and freshly made bread.

The only tiny gripe I have is that there were no tea or coffee making facilities in the room itself, however quick trip to the bar was little issue.

All of the staff we came into contact with were exceptionally friendly, chatty and knowledgeable. The owner showed us some of the new rooms that are being prepared for this season and it really is a place to look forward to go and stay. Highly recommended in every aspect.

The staff were super and friendly. The breakfast was great and the set menus at night were really delicious and the wine choice excellent.
We had some really nice walking trips right from our door. Even though some of the walking is on asphalt, there is almost no traffic.
We can´t wait to come back.

This was one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. Everything (from the rooms, to the patio, to the gardens, to the kitchen offerings) is designed with precision and intention. It is located in a beautiful place in the mountains and the owners will share possible hikes nearby. The rooms are stunning and the bed was one of the most comfortable that I have had. The dinners they offer are very reasonable and delicious; I wanted to stay around the hotel during one of the days the kitchen staff is off and luckily they still offered smaller offering for dinner! I truly enjoyed my two nights here and wish I had stayed longer.

My husband and I have finished our third stay at Finca El Tossal. We have always loved coming here, and have always been welcomed by Sonia and Thorsten and their small team.

The rooms we have stayed in are very comfortable, and the views are second to none. Julio, the chef, prepares beautiful three course dinners five nights a week (and when the kitchen is officially closed they will often prepare a more casual meal of equal deliciousness). They also have an excellent wine list which includes many local wines.

One thing that all potential guests must be aware of is the drive up the hill from Bolulla. A car is essential (and I would recommend an automatic to those not used to driving through mountainous terrain). The road up the hill is not for the faint of heart, but the experience of staying in the Finca is worth it!

There are several villages in the area that make for pleasant day trips, including Benimantell (I'd recommend lunch in Méson Ca Rafal), and El Castell de Guadalest. València is about 140km away, which is also possible to do as a day trip.

The finca is located a little outside of town and can be reached by car. Upon arrival, we were impressed by the beautiful views. During our stay we could watch some beautiful sunsets. The finca is also very well located for daily-trips.
The staff is great. The food was always excellent. Also the service. Always friendly and courteous. The best gin tonics😊.

Finca el Tossal is a real gem in the Alicante region. The hotel area was incredibly beautiful and everything was done with such a good taste. The rooms were exceptional with outstanding views to the mountains. The dinner (3 course menu) was the best we had during our trip to Spain. We also got to enjoy sunset in the jacuzzi with a bottle of wine that we got from the honesty bar at the hotel. In addition, the hotel keepers were super helpful and welcomed us with open heart. This was probably the loveliest hotel I’ve ever stayed at. Will defintely come back!❤

Absolutely stunning finca with the most incredible views, food and personable service. The only thing we did wrong was not stay long enough! A truly relaxing, enjoyable weekend in the most incredible place would definitely return!

It's been over a year that we visited but I have kept meaning to write a review as it was one of the most wonderful hotel stays I've ever had, we absolutely loved the couple of nights we spent here and wished we did not have to leave! The highlights for us were:
- The food: incredible food. Even the salad they kindly prepared for us on Sunday when they were not doing any cooking was so delicious. The cooked meals were so, so brilliant.
- Lovely bedroom looking out onto an incredible view
- Breakfast in the morning on the terrace - so relaxed, so calm, the food selection and coffee was great
- Hot tub - what a view.

Generally, it was the chilled atmosphere of the hotel that we really loved - somehow really relaxed but also everything was done so well, to such a high standard, from the food to the rooms to the wine suggestions.

As you can tell I am a big fan of this place and I would highly recommend anyone coming for a special few days away. Glad I finally managed to write a review.

What a great place, what a great staff... felt almost like family to be honest. This secluded gem takes a little effort to reach but the views, the kindness of the owners and staff makes it all worthy.
We stayed here 2 weeks and visited the area with towns like Altea, Guadalest, Valencia, Denia, Moraira, Finistrat.
After returning from our visits we took a plunge in the really well shaded pool.
Spoiler alert !! Stay also for diner... in the evening !!
We really enjoyed the great 3 course meals and nice wines on the romantic terras in the evenings.
We had a well equipped junior suite with a stunning view as you can see on the happy feet picture :-)

This is an amazing place. ❤ It was like a dream to stay here. The owners are really nice and you can feel their love for this amazing place on each step. The view is breathtaking. I recommend it to anyone who likes nature, mountains and quite. Loved the stay in this place every second that I was there. 10/10

This beautiful place more than delivers what it promises. From the moment Concha welcomed us and showed us around we knew we were in a special place. Rest and relaxation is assured. Beautiful views. Torston and his team were absolutely first class, welcoming, friendly and professional. We ate on the terrace a lovely meal each evening. We did not want to leave and long to return.

This is the place where you want to be if you want to take a real break. The hotel has an amazing view. The rooms are beautiful. The service is the best! Such clean rooms. Very lovely people who do everything to make you feel at ease. So many choices for breakfast, great coffee too! And the diners are amazing and delicious. Very good wines too! Nice swimmingpool area and there is a jacuzzi as well.

Finca el tossal is a stunning finca set in a beautiful location with fantastic views. The rooms are luxurious, spotless and with a really comfortable bed. Sonia and her team can't do enough for you and the evening meal was just delicious! We also really enjoyed the jacuzzi. We will most definitely return!! Thank you so much for a wonderful stay!!

My husband and I were blessed to spend 5 wonderful days and nights at the glorious Finca El Tossal between Christmas and New Year 2021, it delivered far more than we ever expected! On arrival we were warmly greeted by our hosts Torston and Sonja who made sure we were settling into the El Tossal experience with a quick look around the grounds and introduction to the room we were to call home. The rooms are perfect, so romantic, with a touch of class to make you feel that little more special. Each room has a view that delivers at any time of the day but amplified with the morning sun rise bouncing off the distant mountains and in the evenings as the sun sets over the mountains.

Besides the million-dollar views and the comfortable surroundings we were super impressed with the level of hospitality shown by all the very welcoming and at tentative staff. They could not have been more helpful and if you are looking to take in any of the numerous sightseeing options that are within easy reach you only need to ask.

The other highlight was the food, the breakfast buffet was super fresh and comprehensive, with all the fuel required to get you through the day or at least till dinner time (not all nights), just when you think life cannot get any better Sonja and the team serve you a 5-star meal that would be appreciated in some of the world’s best restaurants. The ambiance in the restaurants is in fitting with the surroundings so quaint and romantic, with 180-degree veranda views of the beautiful surrounding vistas.

We highly recommend immersing yourself in the Finca El Tossal experience you won’t be disappointed...

Wished our stay could have been longer. Our room was simply superb, having recently been refurbished, the owners certainly take a great pride in what they do and boy they do it very well. Apart from a tricky winding narrow road to get there, its so very worthwhile, views are amazing all the way down to the coast. We were really amazed how professional every one was/is, the chef well outstanding is not the right word to describe her food presentations she is unique and should have a Michelin Star nobody could doubt the quality of her food simply divine, we were sorry to leave honestly. Everywhere was well looked after no hidden features this family run Hotel is one of the best I’ve ever been to, and I have been all over the world on my travels with my work and holidays.

This place has all the ingredients for a great laidback vacation. A warm welcome from the family (owned business), great food, comparable with high end restaurants cooked fresh on a daily base for great price, rooms which breathes luxury in a contemporary setting. Sad we have to leave and go home. But this one earns its 5 stars in any rightful way. Thanks for the hospitality!

We had a great stay at the bed & breakfast. Sonia is not only a delightful woman, but a fabulous chef. Everything was made in-house with local ingredients. Thorsten (aka 007) with his deadpan humor was our hilarious host who built the finca himself with plenty of attention to detail. He is also great at rescuing cars that are unfamiliar with the territory :P

We visited in July 2021 and our stay at Hotel Finca el Tossal remains one of the highlights of our trip. The dinners were incredible and the staff was wonderful. Thank you for your hospitality!! We hope to be back soon!

Insanely good place to stay. We stayed for a week and loved it so much we can back the next week. Relaxing stay, perfect sun position and lovely jacuzzi. Low prices for fantastic wine and high end food. Top place.
