Very impressive rock formations some 88 km north of Malaga. Altitude about 1200m.
You can choose from two path, one about 1,4km, the other somewhat harder at 2,7km.
Very rewarding walk :)

Landscape is amazing we did the 2 hours walk which was the green and yellow trail. It is quite a physical trek and not for the faint hearted. We where very lucky to get a beautiful hot day but would not recommend in bad weather. Hiking boots recommended although good trainers can also serve the purpose. The rock formation and flora is beautiful. I visited in autumn and the range of colours was amazing. The views are breathtaking and at the visitors centre you can find a restaurant and toilets. The drive up is through winding roads but it is well signposted and the road is in a good state also at the visitors centre there is a large car park.

Me and my partner completed the 5km walk in 2 hours. And that was stopping to take photos of the very unusual terrain and rock structure. There are shorter routes to take if you want to. We took the coach to the start of the walks after parking our car. €2 each return. You can walk up to the start if you want to. It's about 3km from carpark to start. There is a restaurant and toilets at the start of the walks. Both routes are a loop from start to finish. Some people took dogs. Others had young children. But the terrain can be tricky, walking over and around boulders.

We have visited a number of times at various times of the year and love exploring the area. The weather for the end of April was unseasonably cold however this didn't spoil our experience on the contrary it made it possible to walk from the bottom carpark to the top viewing areas. Normally it is too hot so we've always parked up at the top and wandered around. We loved walking up and enjoyed a well earned coffee, egg and chips at the cafe! Definitely recommend a visit and if you can, walk up from the bottom.

I liked it a lot. There are two short trails to walk. I hiked the longer one. It took me about 2 hours. Reserve 3 hours if you go there with children. You should take at least 1l of water per person. Good option is 1,5l of water per person. But after all it was not as dry as I have heard about that place. El Torcal is quite similar to Stone City in north part of Czech Republic (just on the border with Poland). Here you have got karts (in Czech you have sandstone). But El Torcal and Stone City look just the same.
Because El Torcal is located quite high you should check your brakes before traveling there.
There is a restaurant and spacious parking.

They have a small shop and a bar. I was happy to find that there are toilets too.
Be patient in the parking as the spots are limited, and you will most probably have to park along the road.

Great place for a walk. Spotted one mountain goat, so don't forget to look up once in a while. The yellow trail took us 2 hours, with plenty stops to hydrate. Later in the day, around 17.00, there is plenty of shadow spots on the way.

We went to El Torcal to go hiking and enjoy some nature and even though it was extremely foggy I was really impressed with the landscape and all the different shapes of the rocks. It’s such a hidden gem and I recommend everyone to go there, it feels like a completely different world. You can combine your visit with a stay in Antequera - a beautiful Spanish city with great views and lots to do!

Fascinating rocks, mountain goats and vultures. A great day out for families plenty to see and do. A good restaurant and a small gift shop. There are different walking routes that you can either do yourself or go with a guide. It can be muddy and occasionally there's a chilly wind but in the summer be prepared with plenty of sunscreen.

It was a wet and rainy day. Will hopefully go back when weather is better. Loved it despite the rain and hail

Amazing place to rest and relax. We stayed there for over a week in our camper. Beautiful landscape and friendly village Villanueva de Concepcion to get your groceries.

If you are into nature, rock formations and walking, this is the place to go. It's free, quite easy to get to. The carpark does get full, so you need to be there before 11am or arrive later in the day. There's a cafe, information centre, toilets and small gift shop. If you have trouble walking it's not a place to go, however there is a reasonable flat 100m walk to a view point overlooking the coast towards Malaga. For the rest of the area you need walking shoes/boots. You're stepping/scrambling over rocks constantly, so not for anyone with weak knees. You can easily spend 2 hours following the well trodden paths and scrambling around.

Amazing place! Never seen anything like this. It looks like you are in a different planet.
There are 4 o 5 trails available depending on the time you are willing to spend there.
Parking may be a problem in peak season though.
Entrance is completely for free. Visiting such park in other countries would not be free of charge.
This is a must if you are in the area and enjoy nature.
It is quite high so it can get quite cold there! Check the weather and prepare accordingly
