Gustos Madrid Plaza Mayor

When I first walked by this place, I thought it was the usual tourist trap. Great location overlooking plaza mayor. I had my doubts so I took a day to research the online reviews and decided to visit this establishment the next day after all. It was a most pleasant surprise. I had the best tasting paella in my 4 week Spain / Portugal trip here. The seafood option was my favorite. Enjoyed the prime outdoor seating with delicious food and drinks. Will definitely recommend to others and will return again myself.

Absolutely wonderful paella. My son and I split a veggie Paella and it was delicious! My spouse had the pasta with mustard and shrimp in a tomato sauce. I had the flan for dessert and we all had coffee. A great meal in a perfect location! They also had the misters going almost constantly on a hot day. It was really pleasant.
And true to form, when hungry, I forgot to take a photo before we started eating….

Really great food. Had the Chicken paella and potatoes, and it was absolutely delicious. So good we ordered it twice and ate two serves. Ambience was also lovely and food came in a timely manner. Had a great time :)

… we went there twice for dinner and really enjoyed the paella & sangria, as well as the attentive and friendly service. We ate outside on the Plaza Mayor, the restaurant is a bit hidden in the corner of the square, but has a nice atmosphere.

In the Plaza Mayor, a great place for a drink in the afternoon.
This trip, we had the jamon & bacalao croquettes, pan de tomate and the Mejillones.
All were fantastic.
Service was outstanding.
Highly recommend.

Wonderful. I had the veal and French fries. Great ambiance: visit the basement space that they call “The Cave”: it is absolutely elegant and sophisticated. Very clean. Great for an elegant party. Server was very polite and accommodating.
Later edit: I suspect that they did not serve me the veal but I ordered but served sirloin, instead. Yet, I did not complain and it was delicious.

We went here without any expectations and turns out one of the best Paella i’ve had in Madrid. The service was quick. We also taste the garlic prawns and chicken wings which taste just okay.

Super cozy restaurant, friendly staff let me charge my phone. I had a carbonara, the rest of the group had mixed tapas dishes. Everything tasted very good and we were all very happy with service and food.

We have been with a group of 25 people in Gustos. The food was excellent, the service friendly and quick. The restaurant situated at one corner of the Plaza Mayor offered a nice and unique atmosphere. We can only highly recommend the Gustos!

Good location at the plaza major. We had shrimps, patatas bravas and croquetas de jámon, which were all delicious and well spiced. The price is appropriate for the location. The staff was friendly and considerate.
We would come back!

Delicious! Nice outdoor tables away from the sun and with cooling. As with most Plaza mayor restaurants, a little pricey but worth it giveb the prime location and good food.

Now, I’m in the place. Couldn’t wait to comment!
Great place, wonderful paellas and pastas.
Not expensive. Paella + pasta + white vine bottle 50 €.
No need to think to decide..

Love the outdoor seats overviewing Plaza Mayor. Tried out their Octopus Black Ink Paella, not bad but still prefer their Seafood Paella. Definitely will go back again!

Amazing food , enjoyable lively area

Nice restaurant. Eat inside downstairs in the old cellar. The food was wonderful. Service was pleasant. Sangria was very fresh. Love the paella and bacalao croquettes
