The Virgin of the Consol

A must visit when you are in the area. Just a short drive from Benidorm, Altea makes a lovely spot for a short visit. Visit the church, visit the local restaurants, buy some ice-cream and admire the views. We enjoyed our visit today and will likely return later during our vacation in the area. No entry fee for the church but be nice and make at least a small donation to this beautiful holy place.

Very solemn place to do your personal prayers. Well preserved area and you can see that it is very well preserved. Recommended to all the tourist who wanted to visit the lovely place of ALTEA old town. See it yourself and you'll see.

This part of Altea is stunning the views from the top are worth the climb. The main road to the top is dotted with small shops with a few restaurants/bars at the top.
The beach front is also worth a visit for the bars/restaurants, shops & a beautiful beach.

Lovely church, well worth the hike up the hill though the old town, look for the little symbols of a church on the walls of the houses which guide you up - but take any route and you'll get there. The views are amazing plus the streets in the old town are breath taking.

Beautiful church in the historical town of Altea. Prepare to climb a lot to enter the church. Its free to enter. Near the church is a great viewpoint over the coastline.

Lovely place to visit

Beautiful church on the top of the hill in altea. From the viewing point you can see will the way across to Benidorm and albir. The place is steeped in history and used to have a castle on the top. Part of the old castle has been used to form the viewing point.

Caught a No 10 bus from Benidorm 1€ 50 driving through the countryside bus broke down had to get off and on to one that had caught up so no delaying to how journey got off at Altea Railway (trams) station walk across lines there is a pathway that leads you up to the church through the old town A big mistake there are hundred of steps to climb up it was very hot day and we eventually arrived.The Church was Beautiful inside very cool and peaceful place to think about life.We came out better than when we went in we stopped for a few minutes to see which way to get the bus back and the door closed so we was lucky.We then found a road down to the shops which led to the main road to catch the bus back to Benidorm they run about every 10minutes. Beautiful church with some amazing statues. Lovely to sit in the peaceful interior and enjoy the atmosphere. Well worth a visit to this wonderful building.

Beautiful church in the old town. A must visit for everyone if your in the area.
Restaurant and shops close by also. Some amazing views.
