Endless beaches with incredible landscapes for backdrop. Perfect for outdoor sports or relaxing and perhaps best experienced in a van. Sense of freedom and disconnection from a bygone era. Some of the best traditional rice dishes in Spain.

It is a really nice place, with a lot of birds and rice cultures. The beaches are with fine sand and not very populated, even in high season.

The boat tour on the river is just amazing. It is approximately 5 km in each direction. The rice fields, the flying birds, the empty and wild sandy beaches could be seen in the park. And the markers of the highest point of the area is on the left beach.

An excellent day out, we enjoyed cycling around the dirt tracks spotting birds. A must visit, great for all ages.

We visited mainly for bird watching but also to appreciate the beauty of the landscape. It's a large area and we only had 3 hours, but we manage to see a lot. You do need a car or a bike really. There are 3 lakes close together on the south coast with several hides, so we headed there, and visited about 4 hides, that was enough for us. Observatori de la Tancada was best for Flamingos (1000+), and Reserva Natural Riet Vell for Glossy Ibis (100+). The highest concentration of other birds, including harriers, seemed to be in the rice fields and agricultural land, where you can usually just pull in at the side of the road. Also enjoyed the enormous beach at the end of the lake road, Platja del trabucador.
Plenty of maps around the reserve and bird id charts, we printed ours off the website before arrival so we could plan our day.
Didn't find any toilets so guess you will have to buy a drink in a local bar or cafe if you want one.

This is a great place to visit, with a variety of activities including Boat Rides, lots of walking trails, wild beach and beauty spots. This are is the rice growing region so lots of great Paella can be found. Anti mosquito repellant is essential dont go without it!

Best Wetlands in West Spain, lovely place where you have a unique 360° view of sky.
Plenty of routes in a natural enviroment, walking, biking, boat,etc.. You can see a lot of birds there like flamingos.

Beautiful, great birdwatching. Slightly strange too particularly the coastline. Some good restaurants for lunch, can spend a whole day driving round, getting lost.

When you travel from Barcelona to Walencia you must have time to spare to see this refreshing flat land of vivid green rice fields and wide empty beaches.

Amazing escape in summer with the dogs from the crowded and hot Barcelona. Be respectful to the environment and keep dog at the leash if you visit the Delta. The natural beaches are large and long and you find places where you can let them run and bath and enjoy the summer too. Be careful with fish hooks that lay around (it is a fishing area). But the local vet in Riumar took good care of our dog who swallowed a fish with a hook. It was always worth the approx. 2 hours drive out of Barcelona.
You get nice food, super fresh and at affordable price.

A really unusual landscape where the sea meets the land. The bike paths are well indicated and easy to follow and the mon natura center is well worth a visit. You can see flamingos (sometimes pink, sometimes white) as well as lots of herons and other water birds. Sun hats are highly recommend as there's basically no shade. Also, remember your binoculars to get a good view of the birds. Bug spray is also a necessity.

Great to watch the Flamingos dig for shrimp and then fly and the beach at the delta is one if the best beaches I have ever been and the sea was just lovely and warm but still remained refreshing.

Beautiful views and best sceneries in surroundings. The awsome views of Mediterranean sea, the birds flying around, the fields filled of water and rice in summers. You will also enjoy flamingos flying around and adding orange and red colours on the skies. You can also rent boats from different locations like sant carles de la rapita, a famous tourist destination in Catalunya.
