CASA RURAL VEGA DE ANTEQUERA

This is such an exquisite home base to conduct our travels from in Spain. It is a very large Casa on a working farm were they grow garlic, potatoes and sunflowers. Our first welcome was the waft of fresh garlic driving in form the fields.

The Casa was spacious enough to provide protection to our whole fandamily and hangers on. It consisted of 4 fully contained units with 2-3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms each, a quaint kitchen and a comfortable lounge, dining room overlooking the upstairs patios, courtyard and pool below.
The brilliantly blue pool is a happy place that remains surprisingly cool despite being hammered by a harsh Spanish sun throughout the day. Two big umbrellas protect those fair skinned cancer prone individuals lingering on 4 comfortable pool loungers. The steps are slightly slippy as as one of our dear companions found out as he slipped gracefully in his clothes into the pool.

The courtyard provides enough space for a meaningful party and you can choose to sit under the protection of the verandah were inviting tables calls for lazy late afternoon lunches.

As we had the use of the whole Casa, the two bottom units were opened up into one lounge that could more than adequately accommodate everybody and we made sure that the extra flowers pots add to the happy ambiance.

It was quite a feat managing across 4 different kitchens and we had to be extra organised to recycle crockery and cutlery, washing and packing from all directions. The cute little kitchens were very inviting and once we have figured out how the stoves and coffee machine worked, we were A for OK.

Our bedrooms were comfortable and even though the windows were small we figured out the reason for that soon enough (see casa climate). Every bedroom had a beautiful big cupboard.

Only our unit at the top had air conditioning so it was with trepidation that we wondered how we will keep cool when not ensconced in the pool. Like everything else on Spain, regulating the Casa climate works opposite to how we do it back home. Instead of opening up the curtains, windows and doors when the sun comes out, here we close everything at around 10 in the morning when things start to heat up. This is to trap the cool air from the night in the house. Then about 10 in the evening when the sun goes down, you open everything ip and the cool night air starts streaming in and cools the use down. The small windows is also part of the climate control system.

The added plus to staying in this delightful Casa is that it is about 10 minutes from the quaintest little town called Antequera. As a matter of fact it is within easy reach to a lot of tourist areas.

Perfect place to relax with a group

Hemos pasado un maravilloso fin de semana. Como casa de campo / cortijo que es, se puede mejorar limpieza, colchones, etc.. La ubicación es perfecta, superfacil de llegar. Bien equipada, mucho menaje, lavavajillas, las cocinas son pequeñas, pero como ocupamos dos apartamentos, nos apañamos genial. El patio nos vino genial para que los crios jugaran

Un cortijo precioso en medio del campo,para pasarlo bien en grupos.Estuvimos un grupo de 20 personas y lo hemos pasado de fábula.Esta equipado con todo lo necesario para pasarlo bien.Un aparcamiento privado y grande.No es un sitio lujoso,es un cortijo.La propietaria muy amable . Repetiremos seguro.

Una gran casa en un entorno maravilloso. Muy acogedora con calefacción en todas las estancias de la casa. Amplia y espaciosa. Y la dueña encantadora. La recomiendo 100%

Cortijo de lujo super grande, en medio del campo donde no molesta a nadie ni te molestan y mucho menaje de cocina, una piscina super chula, en general muy bien, repetiría

Es un sitio muy entrañable, como un caserío de un pueblo, muy rural y en mitad de los campos sembrados. Nadie te molesta ni molestas a nadie, así que hemos pasado un grandísimo fin de semana con varios amigos y ha sido genial.

La anfitriona es muy amable. La casa está muy limpia y provista de todo el menaje necesario de cocina. Lo hemos pasado genial.y hemos estado muy cómodos. Muchas gracias Maria.

Casa muy amplia, comoda, con las prestaciones apropiadas. En el campo pero con la comodidad de la cercanía a Antequera en cinco minutos. Para pasar unos dias muy agradables.
