Wow, this is spectacular food. Giuseppe and Estelia are producing top-tier Italian with a Puglia twist. It has to be the best Itslian in Madrid. I had the pappardelle with cipirones. The sauce brought me great delight, and the octopus salad with berries was outstsnding and in a class by itself. The place is small, so it may be hard to get a sear.Book in advance. Phenomenal. Best meal you will have in Madrid. Dino and Estella are so charming and welcoming, as is this small, quaint little restaurant. This was easily our best dining memory in Madrid. We will always come back. Grazie per tutto!

A small, but very cosy restaurant with amazing food and service.

To eat we tried the Carpaccio, Grilled octopus and Pappardelle with prawns and squid and everything was amazing (everything from chef’s recommendation outside the menu).

To drink we choose Tinto de Verano and was also very good!

Probably the best food and experience in Madrid and more. And affordable! Stella and Pino are adorable and really caring. I always come back!

Probably the best Italian restaurant in Madrid! Giuseppe is without a doubt a world class cheff. The food was superb and the service without peer. The value, the portions, the experience, the authentic italian tiramisu! truly amazing.

If you are looking for Italian in the lavapiés neighborhood, look no further. The service is great & the food is even better. I highly recommend the frutti di mare if you are fond of shellfish; Paired it with the house cabernet sauvignon.

Hands down the best Italian restaurant in Madrid. The chef, Guiseppe, is from Bari, reflected in a seafood-centered menu. We've now been here several times, and it has always been amazing. All the pastas are freshly made, the clear stand-out being the pear-stuffed gorgonzola fagottini. The service is uber-friendly and jovial, although it can be slow and chaotic at times. (Don't be abashed if the waitress tells you that she does "not like at all what you're ordering"—just follow her recommendations, she's most probably right). As its name suggests, La Piccola Trattoria is a minuscule place, offering a mere five tables—it feels a bit like dining in the owners' home. Reservations are a must, even during the week.

I’ve been to Italy and this is still my favorite Italian food restaurant. My husband and I spent a month in Madrid and we came here every chance we got. I still dream about the Fagottini and Burrata con Trufa now that I am back home. Most delicious pasta I’ve ever had. Stella and Pino are fantastic, they are the owners and Pino the chef. Everything is hand made, made when you order. You must call to make a reservation because they don’t open every day and when they’re open there is limited space. It is a must try in Madrid, though ❤

Amazing food, great service and cosy Italian atmosphere. If you want to eat good Italian food, this is the place to go.

We were lucky enough to discover this amazing Trattoria on our first night in Madrid. It was the only restaurant open after 23.00 so our expectations were low. Little did we know that we would taste amazing pasta dishes (raviolacci is a must) and the ambience that Estella and Giuseppe create makes the experience so cosy and warm. Don't miss that!

Reviews who found the owners, husband and wife, unfriendly and serve slow, etc. are either crazy or ate at some other restaurant. We were greeted and treated like old friends - as was everyone who entered. The food - all freshly made - was delicious! All in all a marvelous evening and one I would recommend to everyone!! Our dinner at Piccola Trattoria will be a very fond memory of our trip to Madrid.

It was amazing! The restaurant of Guiseppe and Estela is small but one of a kind. You feel like being invited to an Italian family dinner. Authentic and very very delicious food!!! For these dishes you love to wait a little longer because it is so high in quality.
