Could this be the best bread 🥪 n Madrid? Possibly or even probably. They are churning out tons of huge delicious loaves of bread from just behind the counter. The focaccia bread is unbelievably good (the four cheese in particular). The shop is easy to miss unless you just happened to walk on that side of the street!

Great selection of breads including treats. Friendly service. Reasonable prices. Sourdough bread is a specialty and it is delicious!

Delicious bread - we had a cinnamon bun thing, a tomato bread, and a chocolate bun. Employee seemed a little grumpy, possibly because we are foreigners (ordering in Spanish), but whatever.

This was a very nice surprise “accidentally “ discovered by walking towards the church of San Francisco el grande which is in fact just few steps away. It is an absolute must visit to enjoy bakery at its finest tradition. If you happen not to find the place, the smell will lead you there. There is typically a long queue of locals buying bread and other delicious home made productions like the wonderful sweet breads we had.

My absolute favorite bakery. Their bread is absolutely unbeatable. I recommend the Trigo Integral as it’s got a wonderful sourdough taste to it. Their bread is freshly made, in house daily. Be sure to also grab one of their delicious chocolate chip cookies and their famous sweet breads: Panquemaos. During peak times, there are lines out the door for this bakery! You can’t go wrong with whatever you buy here. Delicious!

My favorite place to buy bread. You can buy half loaves or whole loaves and they can slice it for you. The hours are great and service is friendly. Everything they make I’ve really enjoyed including their brownies, panquemaos, cookies. I usually get the whole loaf, plus their bread freezes perfectly if you need to keep your bread for longer. Lastly their cardamom buns are phenomal.

Best bread I had in Madrid so far. It is as well an amazing cheese shop next door. Thanks to the bakers team for producing bread with quality ingredients and love!

One of the top bread bakeries in all of Spain is located in La Latina on a small side street across from the San Francisco el Grande Basilica. Just a little tiny neighborhood place with a lovely gentleman at the counter and the chef in back rolling out and baking the loaves. I am a chef, and someone who co-founded a bread bakery in the U.S. and I understand the process of making a great product. There are no compromises with quality here, and it really is evident in their bread. This is as good as it gets. All of their breads are outstanding. There are no additives or preservatives, so keeping the bread tightly wrapped and even in the freezer, then warming it after the first day will extend its life. They also sell half loaves, with is great. As opposed to some bakeries, who make most of their products early in the morning, OBRADOR SAN FRANCISCO bakes fresh breads all day, so you will always get an outstanding loaf. Caring, committed chefs bring you this incredible bread---a must-try when in Madrid.

The best bread in Madrid. And the cookies are to die for. Selfishly hope it doesn't get too popular as the queue is already quite something on a Saturday morning.
