We stumble upon this museum not knowing what to expect. There is no admission fees and no lineups. It is so much bigger than we expect. There is so much to see and the collections is quite vast. I thought it would be similar to the Mint museum in Atlanta, but it has so much more. Stamps, Medals, Coins, and the histories of how money is form in Spain. This is worthwhile if you have time in Madrid. Most displays have English. The gift shop provides first day cover for coins and some stamps.

What an amazing time, lots to see, very beautiful architecture and buildings. The exhibitions were absolutely stunning, they are very impressive and informative. This is a great place for groups of all ages, lots to see and do. Very clean, staff is very friendly and knowledgeable, lots of places to eat and very nice gift shop. The price was very reasonable, would most definitely recommend this place to family and friends. We had a wonderful time and were glad we stopped by!

Amazing museum, best friendly staff and one of the best locations to spend weekend with kids. Hospitality of the personnel deserves the best rating. They are paying so much attention to make kids happy organising and supporting the quests and make the museum visit the best family experience in Madrid. Thank you!

Amazing museum. Clean, spacious, and full of amazing coins from the past. Everything is in spanish, but hey, get Google translator! My one wish is that the videos could have more languages or subtitles and the museum shop had other items like stamps and postage stamps. Will highly recommend

This is a superb museum, especially since it is free, we went toward the end of the day and were there for about an hour and a half, but if you watched all the videos, listen to the audioguides (in English or Spanish) would probably be a good 3 hour visit. Some incredible coins and other artifacts. Well worth putting the time aside.

Fantastic tour and great family activity. Friendly and helpful guides with nice game for children to follow clues in each of the exposition rooms and receive a surprise gift at the end of the tour. Great family experience in city centre location. Thanks to all the team.

amazing place to visit, the staff is great and helpful. The museum looks great with a very easy navigation and the collection is amazing from the beginning of times to the most recent and unusual bills, you shall find it all in this amazing place.
the best part is that you don't have to pay to visit this building and it near the metro station.

This was surprisingly awesome, and the staff were lovely. We ended up going two days in a row - highly recommended (they have audio tours in English too)

The museum dates from the eighteenth century and its origins are closely linked with Tomás Francisco Prieto, General Engraver of the Mint of King Carlos III. He was Director of Engraving at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando and in 1771 founded a School of Engraving. At this school were the craftsmen who would later to work at the Royal Mint of Spain and its colonies.
