What a gem! Their three course meal (with wine) for just 15 euros may be one of best deals in Madrid. The wait staff is great and the food is simple but excellent.

We had the artichoke, melon with ham, rabbit, swordfish, flan, and Tarta de Santiago. All were good. I would try other things if I am ever in the area again.

Great value, large portions, vast choice for a menu del dia - we’ll worth queuing, if needed (didn’t have to on this occasion, despite it being busy). Would definitely return - highly recommended.

True Spanish dishes. Generous menu of the day. Not too noisy, not too salty food, a diamond in the rough.be there 10 mins before opening for fast service. You will not be disappointed.

It’s a super great local restaurant in Madrid. I came around 3 pm-ish and there was quite a long queue already in front of me. It took about 50 minutes to be able to secure a seat. Yet, it’s worth to wait. The foods were super tasty. The waiters was friendly tho they only spoke little English, while me with my little Spanish. It’s really worth the price and the queue.

Great spanish food in a local feeling place. Had to queue outside as it was busy. It was worth the wait! There are set menus with lots of options to choose from which makes a 3 course meal and drink pretty cheap. Would definitely eat here again.

Mouth-watering dishes that are deeply rooted to Spanish cooking traditions but reasonably priced. All the food were absolute delight to my taste bud! Waiting staff were so nice and I didnt feel rush despite a lot of people waiting outside! Must try in Madrid! It can never go wrong!

Nice Food with good price. Very worthy for the Menu of Day. Various options to be choose. Only 14€ for 2 course, 1 dessert and 1drink. Bread is also provided.

Long queue during lunch time

Great food, great prices, great service, loved it! My father and I came here and had the 3 course meal. Asparagus and artichoke hearts as appetizers which were really good and chicken and cod in tomato sauce for main (also very good). Wine is cheaper than water which I love and took advantage of. Our waiter brought us a little digestif after we were finished which we really appreciated the gesture. If you want a no fuss, full of locals, home cooking dinning experience, come here!

Great food and a great value! For 14 💶 we got an appetizer, entree, dessert, bread and wine and everything was solid. A pleasant experience and we will definitely come back next time we are in Madrid.

Love exploring local places where you get in a long line with locals - especially on a rainy day. If locals are willing to stay in line for their food in the rain, I figure it was worth checking out. I was glad I waited in line. They have a nice set menu for MENÚ DLA Y NOCHE. And if prefer, they also have individual entree. Please see pictures for menu selection. Good price. Good food. Definitely worth checking out when you come to Madrid.

I've been going to this restaurant for 25 years. Two of the same three waiters are still there. You can get a prix fixe meal including wine for a very reasonable price. It's a fun atmosphere with many locals and some tourists. Try to get there close to opening time as it fills up quickly. Bon appetit.

I cannot recommend this enough. There is a reason why the place was packed- it's great! The menu of the day is very reasonably priced at 11.50 including a starter, main and dessert with an additional drink. We had a nice bottle of red wine between the two of us. The food is plentiful and very tasty. The Santiago almond cake and the caramel cream cake were amazing. Last but not least the staff were very helpful and professional. We were made to feel welcome. Overall a great experience.

Best meal in Madrid. 11.5 euros for 2 course and dessert. Only tourist when I got there. Only tourist when I left. This place is full. Full of locals. The server recommended what he thought was best and indeed it was super flavourful and delicious. I had mushroom garlic, rabbit steak and custard. Super value for $$. Food cooked n served fresh

I got mixed feelings about this place. This is clearly a local’s spot, however the average age of customers is above 60 for sure. The lunch special for €15 is a steal and I thought I was getting a glass of wine with it but you get a half bottle. For starters I had the mushrooms with olive oil, which was a bit bland as it was just mushrooms oven cooked. The main dish was pork ribs, which was decent and a twist compared to USA ribs soaked in sauce. The rice pudding as dessert was delicious. I would give 4 stars but for the price you definitely get a great value, making it 5. Don’t expect anything fancy as it is a very traditional place.

Authentic. Not over-salted. For evenings, make sure that you arrive at 20:30. Otherwise you will be queuing with the est of Madrid, who believes that it opens at 21:00.
All dishes which I tried were DELICIOUS.
Spanish food in its best quality: padrón, callos, morcilla
Price below average and for fantastic quality!
Escuela Vieha APPROVES!! Very good!!!!

The best meal I had in Madrid, and one of the best meals of my life. Perfect for small groups or dining alone if you’re a solo traveller.

I had the grilled asparagus, cod in tomato sauce, and flan. All of that + 2 glasses of wine was only 15 euros total. Excellent service and delicious, filling food.

You will not find a similar good price/quality food in Madrid. They have litterally thousands of plates. They are all excellent. I recommend La Gula, Pimon Del Padron, Grilled Fish, Mushrooms, etc.

This restaurant was a great find. The menu is large and many local selections. We were surprised at the quality, the service and the food! One of the more formal places we visited, but the staff and atmosphere is casual. Good local food at reasonable prices. Wish we had have found this place earlier in our visit, we would have returned.
