Restaurante La Catedral

Within a short walking distance from the Puerta del Sol, La Catedral is a beautiful place to eat. The staff were very welcoming, attentive and efficient. The menu of the day was excellent value for money and perfectly cooked. Highly recommended.

Beautiful restaurant in the center of Madrid.
It's really very pretty and at Christmas time it's probably at its peak.
The food is great although a little bit touristic.
The service is good and very kindly.

The restaurant inside and out is gorgeous which creates a great atmosphere. We got the menu of the day and photos below will show. The food was outstanding. The crab salad with avocado and smoked salmon was exquisite. The two second plates were amazing. Carrillada was perfect in its sauce and the Merluza hidden by the tender baby eel was awesome. We loved our meal and will be returning for sure.

The environment is very cool, the position awesome (city center) and it is a good price for quality! I really liked it and it didn’t feel like a tourist trap like some of the others around. Service was fast, polite and attentive. I have it flagged now for the next person who comes to visit me in Madrid!

I was surprised to find reasonably priced food a few hundred meters from Puerta del Sol. They offer a full dining menu for 16 euros which is more than decent. Service was a bit slow at times, but not something to affect your dining experience. Also the place looks really cool. You are dining in a "cathedral " 😁

Perfect central location. Cosy atmosphere. Very fast service. Food was very good. Fresh salat was very testy, sea food paella was outstanding and portion for two was huge. We first tried to book a table online, there were only table available for 10.30 pm, we came to the restaurant at about 8.00 p.m without booking, and most of table were free. Overall, it was very nice experience.

Satisfied with the serving and food. We took chef suggestion (2 meals) and a bottle of wine. At the end the stuff offered us a free liquor which was pretty nice. The prices are good for a city centre location very close to Sol square. The interior is remarkable and interesting.

I walked in on chance. Happy about it not being touristy. Not in price nor atmosphere, Classic Spanish menu but really really tasty. The place is charming and the service excellent. The menu smaller but after seasons so fresh and good. Classic Spanish

We visited the city for a couple days and decided to give this place a try. The staff was friendly and helpful, he helped us to decide what to order. The portion was big. We had a great time. We will come back in the future.

The food was excellent, lamb chops, salad and Coffee/desert for $17 bucks.. cant beat it. Plus it has a unique woodworkings and awesome atmosphere. I'll be back again!!

Today we ate at Restaurante La Catedral and we liked it. The food is flavorful and the service is fast. On weekends, they accept walk-ins which is very good, I think.
Also, the atmoshphere is amazing, very cozy and relaxing. The gold and brown look so regal and has surely added to our dining experience.

Amazing service and delicious food! Had the most wonderful dinner here during my honeymoon in Spain. We ordered the “Chef’s Suggestion” of a 3 course meal with different selected items. My husband had grilled prawns and lamb for the main course. I ordered the salad with baby eels and shrimp, along with the baked duck. All dishes were AMAZING! And I was so excited about the meal, I accidentally knocked over my glass of wine. The server was so attentive and quickly refilled my glass of wine as well as my husbands beer and passed napkins to quickly address the spill. Such a wonderful restaurant, I recommend it to anyone looking for a good meal with unique vibes in Madrid city centre.

One minutes by walk from puerta del sol, the place as a wonderful environment (seems to be inside a pirate ship). Friendly staff, five stars deserved!
