The Mango House

I spent 3 nights at Mango house and had a great time. It was very quiet, relaxed and only a few minutes away from the beach. The place is overall really beautiful, clean and well equipped. The rooms for example are spacious, very beautiful and have an aircon as well as ceiling fan - so no matter the temperature, I was able to make it comfortable for me. The communication with the team Mango house team was kind, fast, clear and reliable. The kitchen area on the ground floor is beatiful and really clean! I was able to work from here as well. Hot water, great inernet connection. Had an amazing stay, thank you guys so much!!

I stayed one week at Mango house in the loft and loved it, hearing the waves from the bed was awesome to fall asleep to! Then I came back and stayed a second week in the Papaya room, so much room to be comfortable, and the mezzanine is perfect for meditation( Matt! Please get that window in there, make it even better!!) Matt and Juan were awesome, helpful and attentive to ensure my time at Mango house was the best! Highly recommend, on top, everything is just a short walk from it! Can't wait to go back!

My partner and I have been traveling full time and working remotely for the past few months, and this has been our favorite place to stay. Internet is fast and reliable, perfect for digital nomads and remote workers who require video calls/meetings throughout the day. Matteo and his team feel like family, and the town of Ayampe is full of so much charm and love! Great food, great people, accommodated rooms (even a desk space for work), and great excursions. 10/10 would recommend for both group and solo travelers!

A beautifully designed space with an exceptional team leading and taking care of it. I couldn’t have imagined such an authentic and local experience at any other place in this gem of a place called Ayampe. Very thankful to have stayed at Mango House and to have had access to Yoga classes [with one of the best views in all of Ayampe] and common spaces at Vistamar, located a few minute walk down the road. I stayed at The Loft and most enjoyed the views and private deck. It’s a smaller space than other rooms but cozy and equipped with all one could need.

Mango House was less than a minute from an amazing beach, it had spectacular views of sunrises and sunsets. The house was right in front of a nice park and was super open to let in the fresh air. Matteo was so accommodating and did everything he could to make us feel at home. The house was large and fit the entire family. I would recommend Mango House to anyone planning a trip to Ecuador!

A stay at Mango House is the best way to enjoy Ayampe! Amenities were fantastic, food was incredible, and access to surf lessons and other activities really elevated my stay. I’ll be back!

Mango house is stunning! I love this place, the kitchen is perfect, each room is immaculate and well equipped. The design is gorgeous and has the most insane view on the roof. The location is perfect on a nice quiet side of the town, and only a 2minute walk to everything including the beach. Matteo is the epitome of the perfect host, organizing anything you could imagine and always friendly and willing to help make you stay more enjoyable. I couldn’t say enough good things about Mango house and Matteo!

I’ve traveled quite a lot and this is by far my favourite place I stayed at!
I ended up staying for 3 months which says it all (didn’t plan to stay that long 🙈)
Loved all the rooms at Mango House. They are spacious, clean and with lovely details. They get cleaned everyday by their awesome staff.
The kitchen is fully equipped (and always clean!) so you can cook your own food if you want to. They also offer breakfast/lunch/dinner at Vistamar (their other guesthouse 2’ away) which is some of the best food in Ayampe! I loved eating there not only for the food but because I got to meet so many amazing people and it always felt like a family dinner.
They also offer different fun activities. Can recommend them all!
Also there are the best Yoga classes at the 3rd deck of Vistamar.

But what makes this place truly special is the people. Matteo & Juan are great hosts and there is literally nothing they can’t do or get you 🙈 They both are so attentive and fun to be around. Juan also gives surf lessons (he is awesome!) Learned how to surf quite a bit thanks to him!

Had an amazing stay at The Mango House! Our host Matteo went above and beyond to provide us with whatever we needed, his knowledge of the area, the surf, and the way of life in Ayampe is unmatched. The Mango House itself is simple in design and perfect for any weary travellers to recuperate and recover. It has plenty of privacy and there is always a great vibe. I would highly recommend this accommodation to anyone. Thank you Matteo and Lola, we'll miss you guys and can't wait return!

Great place to stay! Hands down the best value for the money in the area too! The beds and linens are so comfortable, Abe the views are great. Mateo is very friendly and helpful with everything from surf rentals to travel plans.

Mango House is the place to stay in Ayampe. Matt, the owner, lives next door and he is the king of hospitality. He went above and beyond to made sure we were comfortable and having fun. He arranged taxis, found us a yoga teacher and constantly made us laugh. When I return to Ayampe I will definitely stay at Mango House or Matt’s other property Vistamar. Thanks Matt!!!

The Mang House is a comfortable, affordable, location located on a lagoon with a short walk to the beach. From the fluffy down pillows to the fully stocked kitchen the attention to detail is apparent. Matteo is a consumate host who will take care of your every need and is super capable of turning up your fun dial from the best places to surf and dive, to horseback riding in the jungle. Highly recommended!! 3/5/2022 - Its a year and I'm back!! Nothing has changed as far as service, there has been an upgrade. All the rooms have been remodeled and air conditioning has been added. Snorkl8ng, horseback riding, surf lessons and board for rent this place has it all. Best value on the coast!!

The mango house is an amazing place to stay!! And Matteo, the owner is the nicest and more convenient host that you could hope for! He can also rent you some surf, tell you the nicest spot to visit and give you surf lessons!!

Our stay at the mango house was the best part of our trip in Ecuador!!

A great place to relax, get work done, escape the hustle of city life, have a cold beer, watch the sunset. This is a special corner of the Earth where the fresh waters of the Rio Ayampe meet the salty waters of the Pacific Ocean. There is more than enough to do for the land lovers too.

The hosts make it easy to have a great experience regardless of the pace you want to experience this beautiful place. Great hot showers after a long day of adventures followed by great food and a cold beverage.

Need I say more?

Ok. If you visit during whale season be sure to take a boat trip if you have your sea legs, but if you dont the view from here is more than sufficient.

You should inquire. Host is a super cool, well-connected dude. The place is affordable and very accommodating. There are only 3 rooms total so it feels private if you book 2 of them. The kitchen is huge and has a blender, toaster, and most things you’ll need. The rooms are so clean and cleaned every day. It’s not beach front but a super short walk to the beach and everywhere else.

Super nice & quiet place, perfect distance from the centre & a beautiful walk past beautiful scenery to get there.
Matteo & staff are super friendly & I can tell they find great pleasure in their services.

I absolutely love this perfect hideaway in Ayampe. A 3 min walk to the beach, 2 minute walk from fresh coconuts and any other necessities you may need - in a peaceful and quiet corner of this amazing little town. I've stayed here 3 times because it is such a sanctuary - beautiful views, clean and comfortable room, hammocks, kitchen, and possibility to rent bikes and surfboards. AND an awesome host who is super available and knowledgeable on anything you may need while in town. Highly highly recommend, especially the attic loft :) Only caution is you may end up staying more time than you planned!

A clean, comfortable, unique stay with hot showers and clean linens each day. Nestled between the beach and the jungle, the views are incredible and it's an easy walk to everything in town. Matteo helps you build your ideal trip with whatever adventures you want -- we did a jungle walk, a boat ride and snorkel trip, and learned to surf. fresh seafood and fruit even come by on a truck so you never have to leave. a magical place!!
