Mindo Maya Chocolate

Had a blast doing the chocolate tour at Maya's chocolate! They walk you through the entire history, process, and make your own chocolate! Their tour is new, but well put together and the atmosphere is awesome! Perfect for supporting a small family business

Wonderful experience, well worth the money, great fun, very informative and lovely staff, and lots of delicious taste-testing. We made our own chocolate and tasting various forms: from seeing the cocoa fruit on trees, to roasting cocoa beans, grinding them, mixing them with sugar and flavourings, tasting hot chocolate, cacao tea, fruits. Also, the location is lovely, keep your eye out for hummingbirds coming to drink from the orchids on the outside of the building.

Amazing tour! And the chocolate they have is delicious. Very interactive experience and they spoil you! 10$ is a very good price for what you get.
Also the chocolate face mask is great

This was a great experience - exceeded our expectations. We learnt all about the cacao history and process from our super guide Pablo. The tour was very interactive and catered to my terrible Spanish by being offered in English too! We thoroughly enjoyed all the taste tests and would recommend highly. A particularly good option if you get a classic rainy Mindo afternoon as it is under cover.

Brilliant and personal tour taking you hands-on through all the stages of making chocolate from bean to bar. Super informative, lots of free samples and lots of fun to be had! (Chocolate face mask fully recommended too!)

Really nice demonstration on how chocolate is made! Making our own chocolate milk was cool! Nice tasting too. 10$ for the tour and they sell chocolate for reasonable prices.

Overall a good experience to discover how chocolate is made from fruit to bar. Will leave you laughing with the chocolate face mask. Surprised with the Cacao juice and indulged with the brownies. A bit of nice music would be good addition to the experience in the shop.

Totally worth time and money. Very informative, nice facilities and friendly services. They have a small shop selling their own products too.

This is a little shop / chocolate tour outside the "main" area of the town of Mindo. It's the not the "main" one you get when you search "chocolate tour" in the area, but we are so, SO glad we came here instead!

It's a family owned business and not only are the people all super nice but the products are amazing. I think they may have started up pretty recently and are still iterating on the script but that almost made the experience feel more personal. We got to taste cocoa beans, roast and crush our own beans, taste cocoa powder / hot chocolate / chocolate tea, put on a chocolate mask, try ~10 different kinds of chocolate, and more.

Everything was so delicious and the family was just so, so kind and friendly - it was great getting to know about them and their lives in addition to the tour. We bought some chocolate on the way out and they were so good we came back before leaving Mindo to grab more - now that we're back home I wish we bought even more!

Lovely and interesting place and lots of hands on practice so you know the history of chocolate, done in Spanish and English

It's 10usd for a tour per person which includes the Artesanal process of making the chocolate where you are required to help, the explanation of the process today and lots of tastings of the fresh bean, dried bean, roasted bean, chocolate paste, chocolate tea, different chocolates and at the end a delicious brownie. The setting is in a nice jungly garden and the tour lasted over an hour.

What a lovely experience. They offer tours in spanish or english. We were told about the history of cacao, could taste, roast and grind ourselfes. Very relaxed atmosphere. 10$ per person and you can also buy Maya chocolate or shells for tee. Absolutely recommendable!

Superbe expérience au sein de la chocolaterie Maya.
Nous avons eu la présentation du chocolat de la graine à la tablette de chocolat. Incroyable moment de partage de connaissance et d’ateliers autour du chocolat qui rend cette expérience unique. La dégustation était riche avec 10 chocolats délicieux.
Je ne peux que vous recommander d’y aller.

Moment incroyable passé à Maya ! Plus d'une heure de tour intéractif. L'animatrice nous a présenté la fabrication du chocolat tout en répondant à nos questions. Les dégustations sont incroyables. Nous avons même pu s'entraîner.
Le chocolat est délicieux.
Ils n'ont rien à envier aux autres tours très touristiques. Je recommande à 100% aux personnes à la recherche d'authenticité !!!
