Great German food restaurant. Menu in both, Spanish and English. Beer from Germany. Gorgeous view of the lake, nice atmosphere, good food. Hugely recommend. We will definitely be back for more.

Stayed much longer than expected. While the owner Hans was abroad, Julia, Paolo and the rest of the team took care of us amazingly!

Amazing campground....Hans is a welcoming host. Great food, great beer and lots of fine miradors and places to explore in and around the property.

This is a place to come back to and/or to stay longer than you intended to. Just because its a great place for camping in your own camper or in one if the beautiful tiny houses. A hidden gem. If you look for a place to do camping, or to stay in a tiny house, or a cabin, or if you have a RV/Car camping setup, this is the place. I wanted to camp but they didn’t have the equipment for rental. Bring your own camping equipment. I stayed in the tiny house for 1 night. Cost me $65. Got two beds, and really comfortable. For camping or RV they got 110/220V. They also have a German restaurant, really good place for relaxing with your family. Also got a place for BBQ. Highly recommend.

I cannot think of stay anywhere else . Look at the pictures , place is amazing and you can share this experience with your dogs. They are super helpful. Whatever problem you have they are solving for you . Thank you soooo much . Thank you for take care of my dogs 😘😘

Finca Sommerwind is a perfect sanctuary for anyone who is coming from or on their way to the Colombian border. Hans, the owner, is incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about vehicle paperwork and his resort offers very affordable camping or excellent accommodation in a variety of options for tiny homes. You can also enjoy a rich authentic European breakfast menu, top tier Cappuccino, and world class German beer to celebrate your entry in Ecuador.

Love this place, Hans the owner and his wife Jimena are welcoming, kind and helpful his staff Mariana and Stephany are lovely too. I camped there for 4 nights and enjoyed every minute. There is high speed internet, hot showers and a shared kitchen. We also celebrated New Year’s Eve there which was extra special. You become part of an international community, which is exactly what I want when travelling. I highly recommended! P.S the fries are excellent!

This place is the Overlander favorite of all of Ecuador! All campers are welcome and get to enjoy great breakfast and German-style food, power supply for your car (110/220v), stable WiFi of around 15 Mbit/s throughout the campsite, warm water in bathrooms and communal kitchen and a lot of love from the owner Hans and his beautiful wife 💕
They make you feel welcome and add many details that make this place like home. 🚗🏠🥰

Hans and his staff made us feel incredibly welcome. The German food was absolutely outstanding and a surprise to find an Ecuador but we are super happy that we did. Great selection of main courses, German beers, and of course desserts. Great wide open area overlooking the lake while you're having lunch adds to unique experience that everybody should check out when you're in town. I absolutely recommend it and we'll be going back for sure.

Nice place, if you miss a bit the European summer or spring, here you can have a recall of it enjoying beer of course being a beer garden, also some Wienerschnitzel, or a bratwurst.
Nice weather, just bring your mosquito repellent please.
The German owner is friendly and explain al the amenities available there.
Kids friendly, so great to go with friends of family!!

This camp was awesome. We were accommodated in comfortable cottage with a great view on the lake. In the garden you can find avocados, limes, fiks, mandarines or even a coffee plants. There is a horse named Texas, so make sure to give him an apple and a hug, because he is super friendly.
If you are an adventure traveller, you will appreciate what you can get there. I highly recommend this place.

Wonderful place, Hans is super friendly and a wealth of information. Showers are hot and clean, potable water available and the wifi is strong. Lovely location too, couldn't fault this place it's a beacon of light.

We had a great time at Finca Sommerwind. Hans is a super nice and helpful host and the place is a must for any overlander in south america. Not to forget the great curry wurst that is served in the Biergarten.

Very nice campground for overlanders, also tents, rv and offers cabanas. Restaurant with excellent food, a lot of German food and German beer! A must for overlanders on the panamericana.

Perfect place for Overlanders to rest up, carry out maintenance to vehicles, enjoy a professionally run camp site with excellent café bar, facilities and view.

Lovely place, the owner is a really good person and it is one of the few camper sites in all Ecuador.
