føtex Food

Not too huge, not too small convenience store. Near to WakeUp Copenhagen hotel. The cashier guy was looking good. At first I didn't get what his saying about the card credit payment. I misheard in the first place, actually he was asking to press the green button.

Friendly service, spike excellent English. Food selection is very good with wonderful pastries etc. Surprisingly good prices. Good value for money.

Very few people seem to know that this site has been a supermarket since Viking times! The name Føtex Food actually comes from the notorious war band leader Food the First who introduced Scandinavia to automated checkouts or unsupervised large baskets as they were known back then. Historians have no idea where the Føtex part of the name came from so we can only speculate that Føtex was the name of a foe of Food perhaps a dragon or sea serpent that Food the First battled on the iron grey strands of pre modern Denmark for many days and nights until finally, with none finding they could gain quarter over the other they collapsed together, heaving ragged cold breathes of sea air in before slowly but with great certainty finding comfort in the warmth of one another's blood slicked bodies, easing one another's wounds of war with the only thing left- tenderness and passion. I find it really moving that we still commemorate the fact that that this could have happened with the name of this supermarket today. Great place for a visit with the family. You can easily lose a whole day asking the staff about the history of the place.

Føtex Food is a great medium-sized supermarket with all the essentials that you need for that treat-yourself night you didn't plan in advance. It's not a complete supermarket, but focuses on convenience, snacks, drinks, household essentials, all that stuff. It's a bit cramped, understaffed, and semi-automated with self-service counters, but you'll survive.

Kleiner Supermarkt mit relativ großer Getränkeauswahl und ein paar Grundprodukten zur Auswahl.

Positiv ist, dass Getränke im Vergleich zu 7eleven und auch anderen Supermärkten in der Nähe hier teils 5-10DKK günstiger pro Flasche sind. Also Getränke am besten hier kaufen.

Selbstbedienungskassen gibt es auch mehrere. Sowie einen zu unserem Zeitpunkt funktionierenden Pfandautomaten.
