Restaurant Kanalen

We’ve celebrated our anniversary here and it was great! The food and the service were amazing. We’ve ordered 7 dishes in total and they were all different and delicious! Would totally come back!

I was visiting København in September. I absolutely need to talk about this great restaurant!

I wanted to walk around the canals and find a quick meal before my flight back home to Chicago. I just looked at google maps and explored Christianshavn cause it looked pretty. I happened to come across Kanalen and was happy to see that they had a lunch special on their menu (in english for someone like me).

The people working there were super friendly and welcoming! I can talk about the food for a long time because it was so delicious!!! I really wanted to give a big praise about the dessert because the plum and almond crumble tasted exactly like my favorite dessert my elderly neighbor used to make my family when I was a young little kid.

This place truly spoiled me with its wonderful food and serene ambiance and I will absolutely visit again and hopefully being people with if I’m ever back in København!!!! (I apologize for the number of exclamation marks)

This was a lovely place to have a fine dining dinner not too far from the Nyhavn canal area. It was a pleasant walk and an enjoyable meal.

The servers were gracious and attentive and the food was excellently prepared. We had a croquette ‘escape’ our table and they were quick to replace it with another serving.

The only thing I would have done differently is try some of their other drinks rather than wine. The wine we chose was good, but wine is no longer my first choice in Denmark.

I would certainly recommend the short walk to this quiet corner of Denmark for a great meal.

We arrived without a reservation and they fit us in on a busy evening. We were looking for a light dinner after a big lunch.
We enjoyed all 4 dishes we ordered. Just a heads up that dishes marked as mains are really not large - menu and server explained as well.

Excellent food, as rated by Michelin it stands up to the name. Obviously it is reflected in the pricing as well. Recommend reservation as it gets busy with business customers. It's definitely a place to dine in Copenhagen. 2 to 3 dishes per person is advised.

The best restaurant that we visited in Copenhagen. All the dishes are absolutely delicious and special. Excellent service and good wine pairings. Lovely location. Highly recommended!

A quaint restaurant off of a canal, that left us satisfied and not overtly full. The restaurant has an extensive menu of small, and medium plates that were fresh and creative. Service was phenomenal, and very attentive. Highly recommended to anyone looking for elevated danish fare.

A really good surprise since I had never heard of this place before. The dish mostly consist of fish and seafood, but they have something from the grill (meat) as well. They don't really have main courses, but small dishes to share and I find this better because we can try more dishes and not limited to personal portions.

All dishes were wonderful, and the oysters and the shrimps were definitely stars of the shows. Would love to come back again.

Interesting small sized portions. The delicacie, once served, they give an overview explaining the dish eg ingredients used, what and how the flavours are added, and why is it special. Was good. Restaurant is beside the canal. Nice ambience. Priced bit high, but it's ok for concept. Service was good. Looks like they alai change the menu options from time to time.

Great location near Christiania. Cozy atmosphere with friendly staff. Nice concept with dishes to share. They were very friendly to our 1 year old daughter, who got her own high chair.

This place has absolutely beautiful French inspired Danish cuisine. You order smaller plates and it allows you to have a rounded experience with a variety of flavors and textures. It was absolutely unexpected and wonderful. I can’t say enough about the service here- you will be taken care of!

Great food and friendly service. Enjoyed the five-course menu which was nicely decorated. Our 2012 dessert wine from the Jura mountains for the cheese was off, unfortunately, but we gave it a try. But all in all an excellent evening.

We managed to get a same day reservation for the 17:30 seating and we are glad we did. The food was creative and fresh, and the service was good. For the quality it was worth the price. We got the recommended 2 snacks and 3 courses each and left satisfied. Recommended.

Superb dinner. Charming interior and the wine was delicious, staff accommodating and helpful, and located in a nice area for post-dinner. Food was some of the best I’ve ever had.

Delightful Experience. The food is exquisite and prepared with fresh and peculiar ingredients that perfectly match exalting the flavours. The atmosphere is relaxed and the location on the canal is charming. Lovely service, the timing is impeccable; while waiting for the mains the waitress brought us some appetiser to fill the time. Recommended for small groups and romantic occasion.

A truly wonderful experience! All the food was absolutely delicious, the ambience of the restaurant perfect and the staff were all very friendly and professional. Wouldn't change a thing!
