We were three and ordered five smørrebrød because usually they are so small. But this was almost too much for us. Good price, feels very traditional and danish and all the smørrebrød we tried was very good.

I came here for a traditional meal. We had pork ribs and roasted pork. Each came with a sauce and potatoes. Extremely tasty and traditional. The waiter we had was very friendly and helped us with the menu we finished our meal with some Danish liqueurs (very strong). Great experience!

A must if you would like to eat a true Danish lunch called Smørrebrød.
Still the place for a true Danish lunch.
Excellent selection of the best Danish "Smørrebrød" in Østerbro.
Also great for good old Danish dinner.
Staff is great as well. Go go go😊😊
Still the same great place.

This is a lovely little place to visit - even when you're French visiting on the evening of the France - Denmark game where Denmark lost, unfortunately :-)

The restaurant is extremely welcoming and we had the sweetest waiter possible - as expected in Denmark, Communication in English is perfectly possible. The menu features a variety of very hearty foods - don't come here just for a snack! it's very filling and really classic Danish, nothing fancy, but incredibly tasty!

Overall, highly recommended if you're hungry - if you're in for a conversation, it can get a bit loud with the parties around Christmas time.

Really a good address for a tasty, filling evening dinner and a good ol' time.

Lovely Danish restaurant ! The waiters we're adorable, and I don't say that lightly because I'm French and at that time the France/Denmark match was on! Just so you know :)

We took the salmon entry, the aspargus soup: delicious !! With traditional Danish meat dishes, and it was exactly what we needed for the evening. I recommend!

We were a large group to a Christmas lunch. I don't eat meat but there was plenty of fish, salad etc. The food and service was very fine. I didn't hear any complaints. We all agreed it was a very enjoyable experience.

With a couple of friends, we decided to stop by and have a try. From outside, it does not stand out but the location is great, facing the lakes.
The service was excellent, our waiter was nice, always smiling to the customers. He handled by himself the whole service ( roughly 40-45 customers), taking orders, serving, cleaning tables... There was not waiting time.
The food was also a very good surprise. The quantity did not compromise the quality of the dishes. It was also quite cheap, we paid around 1800kr for 5 people, including 2-3 courses per ppl and bottles of wine. So all in all, a very good experience, and I would definitely recommend if you wish to try traditional Danish food !

I'm coming here for years, almost every time when visiting Denmark. Lovely and cosy place with great food and service. Great place for stegt flæsk (national Danish dish).

Very positive experience.

We were actually skeptical about trying this place because we had read several reviews complaining about service level. Tonight at our first visit we had a great service by a waiter called Martin. He was kind all the way, taking very good care of the 4 of us and walking the extra mile for my girlfriend, who wasn't feeling so well. Martin made us feel really welcome, he always had a smile on his face and brought a good spirit to our table.

Don't expect anything fancy: this is "just" an authentic old school Danish restaurant, with meatballs, schnitzel, roasted pork, snaps, and all the other classics. The place is low key, but food is good and service is nice, much, much better than what I have read on previous reviews. Thank you Martin for making us feel welcome.

Really nice and "hyggelig" restaurant at the end of Sortedamssøen close to Østerbrogade. The fried pork with bolied potatoes and parsely sauce: "Stegt flæsk med persillesovs" (one of Denmarks most famous dinners), tasted fine. The potatoes was boiled perfectly, the sauce had the right texture and taste with a lot of parsely. Just ask the very friendly waitress for more sauce if you need it. We en enjoyed it with a cold beer and a double Bornholmsk Figensnaps (akvavit). The only remark was that the pork slices could be just a tiny bit thickere and some of the pic rind (sværen) was not crisp.
However, 149DKK for per person for a LARGE portion is quite cheap. We will return 👍

My wife and I booked Christmas lunch at Sopromenaden in the hope of experiencing an example of a traditional Danish Christmas meal, and it delivered in spades. This is not an ultramodern upmarket fine dining restaurant, instead it delivered a warm friendly experience with a large quantity of great traditional Danish cuisine, local beers and aquavit.

Nice traditional restaurant, the food was delicious and portions were huge.

We were there on a quiet night and there weren't a lot of people in the restaurant, the waiter was available and took time to discuss with us and explained the menu.

I would defintely recommand this place for anyone willing to try danish cuisine!

I’ve eaten here off and on for fifty years with the eatery under different names and my mother back to the 1950s. Gracious, accommodating, incredibly delicious food and my first post Covid stop!
