This is an experience unlike anything .
Sight, sound, taste .. your sense combined to create something more

I took more pictures than I can count but only posted a few as this is not something that can be explained so easily through a few pictures alone nor did I want to spoil the experience for those that will come.

Original, passion, thoughtful, thinking , visionary are just some of the words I would to express the experience and my take away.

Honestly I am grateful to have gotten an opportunity to experience this , do I say “restaurant “

Seriously there is a reason why they’re the top restaurant in Copenhagen/world. Just a whirlwind of experience during the whole dinner which would roughly take you 5-6 hours leisurely. It was not dragged out but you will understand once you get inside. Don’t wanna spoil the fun but you’ll be moving a few times once you enter. There will be snacks and drinks to start, then the main room and lastly desserts. Service was top notch from the moment you enter the massive door. Visited in August 2023 and I’m going again in December 2023. You have to experience it for yourself but I’ll post some photos/videos. Yes I’ve been to noma a couple of times but alchemist has an edge.

This was a very fun and entertaining experience. Like nothing I can compare it with. The service was brilliant. Our sommelier from California San Diego was such a fun person with great explanation of wine. I will remember this night for a long time.

Everything about this place is extraordinary. It's like being transported into another world for a mindful break for 5 hours. We on purpose didn't research at all before going and it was one of the best experiences of our lives.

But what really stood out was the hospitality. After being moved to a couple of seats over, to accommodate an unexpected company that met each other in the lobby, which we of course was fine to do - we were rewarded with a glass of the best champagne that we have ever had. This was courtesy of the head chef, who also came to introduce the bottle and also checked that we were really ok with being moved. That kind of hospitality almost stood out the most, even if everything else was also out of this world.

What an experience! Can't recommend it enough, even if it takes some saving up

What an amazing night!
If you are a food enthusiast who is getting bored of ordinary fine dining experiences, this would be a perfect place for you.
Definitely opt for the exclusive wine pairing option. You will not regret it.
Every dish is full of amusement yet philosophical. Go and have fun!

Undoubtedly, the most extravagant dining experience I ever had.

The restaurant is located in a repurposed warehouse on a waste land à la T.S. Eliot on the outskirts of Copenhagen (not far from the homey compound of Noma). Its entrance is barred by a monumental door that only opens from the inside. We went there by bicycle on a stormy evening and the scary ride was a good conditioning for what was to come.

Inside is like entering behind the mirror of Alice. It is comfortable. The service is attentive, the waiters and waitresses have the preventive kindness and expertise of Chamonix guides taking you on a mountaineering expedition. Eager to share with you their enthusiasm and passion. But everything has a twist.

The 5-hour journey consists of 50 impressions. Each of them tells a story of its own. From childhood memories (amber collection on Danish beaches), to book evocations (Andersen of course, but also 1984), tributes to artists (Frida Kahlo, Andy Warhol), political and environmental issues (plastics in the ocean, chicken battery farming, child labour), calls for blood donation, and culinary prouesses (the perfect omelet). And each of them is made edible, by sophisticated and very precise elaborations, which of course do not show, but try to convey the desired meaning through a vocabulary of tastes and textures, and through the gestures required to bring the food to the mouth (stabbing of big brother eye with a spoon, French kissing of Danish tongues). The experience is made complete and immersive by musical ambience and projection mapping on the dome of the main restaurant room, which evoke some of the dishes or provide open windows towards brave new worlds, like the generic images of portals and bridges on euro banknotes.

It all ends in a debrief room, where the guides and the 32-year-old Chef, Rasmus Monk, who was always present behind the scenes and presided over the smooth execution of the choreography, offer you comfort drinks and ask about your impressions. With tact and humility. Finally, you go down an elevator, the massive entrance door reopens and you are out. The storm is still raging, but is loosing its drive and turning into rain. And you feel like Aladin, expelled from the cave without a magic lamp, but still under the spell of this otherworldly experience.

Incredible and quite unique experience. Everything is design to make you enjoy as much as possible with all your senses. The professionalism of everyone is outstanding. Every dish and action is taken by waitresses at the same time which is great to watch. They call them impressions and it is definitely impressive the amount of work and how many people is behind making the evening an unforgettable one. The amount of detail is breathtaking. I asked to have alcohol free as I am breastfeeding and from that moment on everything was quickly adjusted to me seamlessly.
Best for me was the omelette which literally made me cry of pleasure although I must admit I would have love to have a second bite or to have it again.
And it is somehow one of those that looked very simplistic.
Only critique is that the sweet moment is somehow way to long (the feeling is like if you had more than half of just sweets). Some of the thought provoking dishes such as the blood drop are definitely provoking but also not enjoyable on the mouth so after it I really needed something as good as the omelet or the bikini sandwich and it was somehow disappointing to just have sweets.
I would definitely recommend to have some of the wine pairings even though we could not enjoy them but seeing the other guests having them it made us regret not to be able to order.
Lastly, it is the price. The experience is definitely recommendable but it is truly expensive and one might wonder if worth it. Maybe the price could be a bit adjusted but it is indeed something I would tell people to try once in their life if they can afford it.

It is hard to know how to talk about one's experience at Alchemist - it is theater, it is food, it is political, and it is quite astounding. Dining here will give you an experience like no other. We arrived at 6:30 p.m. and left after midnight. You arrive at the door in the middle of industrial park at the end of "nowhere", and this door has no bell, doorknob, handle, nothing. Then, it just opens in front of you. That alone should give you an inkling of what is in store for you. I cannot possibly describe all we ate and drank, so I will just give some highlights.

You start in a rather dark room where there is a woman dancing - she leads you to a box, and inside the box are thin pieces of shiny paper. She pantomimes for you to eat it, which of course you do.

You are then escorted into a room with seating spread out. We were lucky to get a table by the window where you can see the chefs preparing all that you will eat in this first room. And the first thing you are handed is a metal daisy, and the center is a ball of yellow. You drink it, and there is a lovely explosion of citrus with bits of yuzu ice in it. This is just amazing.

You are handed an omelet - described as the best in the world. It is essentially a spherized omelet with comte cheese in the center. It is in fact the best omelet I have ever eaten.

You are then escorted up a long flight of stairs to a large room topped with a dome. The dome, at the moment, has projected onto it a huge beating heart. Every so often the entire ceiling changes to something completely different - neurons, computers, colored swirling dots....it is quite something.

What did we eat in this room? Uni topped with a solid black crackable top. A lobster claw made from lobster meat but fabricated. A cocktail that glowed in the dark. A tube of crispy potato topped with a soft cheesy mixture and topped with Spanish ham that looked like a flower, Thin slices of rabbit meat served on a metal rib cage. This meal is fantastical, dramatic, provocative, delicious, funny, serious, interesting, and beautiful all at once. This is an experience that I likely will never have again.

You get relieved of "things that could fall off" and end up in a room full of white balls. You fall over and laugh and laugh.

You get escorted to a fourth room for dessert. You get served a crunchy candy containing a golden ant, a frozen margarita in a solid square, a "tart tartin" the outside of which are wafers that glisten like gold.

Finally you get in to an elevator so dramatic I will leave it for you to discover.

There is only one word for this experience - remarkable.

Let's just say, they completely blew my mind and redefined what it means to create a fine dining experience (with the emphasis on "experience" as it touches all your senses, engages your imagination, plays with your emotions on multiple levels).
Food: every bit was exquisite.
My vocabulary is rich enough to describe each of the food impressions that we were offered. This deserves to stay a surprise for the lucky ones who get to visit the Alchemist in the future.

Service: They set the ultimate standard for extremely attentive, always there when you need them without hovering, perfectly timed, sophisticated and classy without being snobbish, knowledgeable and relatable, democratic in the best sense of this word (as in, you can see Rasmus, the creative genius behind Alchemist, and Alchemist chefs serving food and interacting with guests along with servers all throughout the night).

Experience: during dinner (which is 4-5 hours depending on your pace but boy does the time fly when you are having fun!), you will be surprised, amused, emotionally moved, delighted and very possibly you will at one point laugh the carefree and thrilled laughter of a child.
Just go and enjoy it. It's beyond worth it.

One of the best, most skillfully-crafted meals you can get on Earth. I won't go into super detail as part of the enjoyment is the surprises along the way. And some of the dishes aren't necessarily taste (one of the desserts in particular, which even the server admitted is often not eaten due to its unusual main ingredient). I'll post some of my favourite dishes but I'll allow the excellent, expert servers to explain them. Yes, it's expensive - but this isn't a meal you'll have every day, it's a rare experience that will stay with you for a lifetime.

Been to many fine dining restaurants around the world , and this the best by far .
They have the best staff and service I ever experienced, everyone is so passionate with what they do. this is a lifetime experience and very unique one.
The food is just very unique and special.
Price is very high but it’s worth every penny paid.
This is not just a restaurant, it’s a whole special experience.

The Alchemist is truly a once in a lifetime culinary experience which needs to be seen to be believed.
Thinking back on our experience at the Alchemist, It’s all blended into one big blur. From start to finish every single one of your senses is overloaded to the max creating a near euphoric experience. You are brought from room to room to room each serving its own purpose from feeding you to turning you into art.
Each of the 50 separate courses is masterfully prepared. Each with its own meaning and story. Some posing political or ethical questions. All of them pieces of art.
A lot can be said about this restaurant but none of it can truly encapsulate the experience. It is just something that needs to be done at least once.

This was an experience of a lifetime. When I had the pleasure of experiencing this multi sense dinner, I was greeting by a personal violin mini concert after which my blidn was blown by the following hours of impressions, 50 in total!

I was able to snag a reservation for my birthday and I’m so happy I did. Alchemist takes fine dining to an even more elevated level and raises questions as to how we behave as consumers. Definitely add this at or near the top of your fine dining bucket list as you’re going to have a hard time finding anything else like this.

The Alchemist is a culinary gem that transcends dining into a mesmerizing experience. With its innovative fusion of flavors, artful presentation, and an ambiance that feels straight out of a fairytale, dining here is nothing short of magical. Each dish is a masterpiece, meticulously crafted to tantalize the senses, while the restaurant's whimsical decor and attentive service add an extra layer of enchantment. The Alchemist truly stands alone in its ability to blend gastronomy and wonder, making it a must-visit destination for those seeking a dining adventure like no other.

As with art everything at the Alchemist is not meant to be enjoyed. I read in some of the previous reviews that it's hard to review the Alchemist as a restaurant. I wholeheartedly agree. The range of experiences go from exceptional cuisine via explicitly provoking to enjoyably playful. I felt that the initially introduced theme could have been explored deeper for an even more foundational experience - now at times we were highly engaged and at other times passive spectators. Overall a unique experience.

Dining at Alchemist was like falling down a rabbit role (a dreamy one). This restaurant is the genesis of the idea that fine dining can go behind classic constellation of white tablecloths, waiters, and diners. We were greeted by performance artists and left through a ball pit. Definitely one of the most memorable meals I’ve ever had!
