Beautiful small city on a steep hill above Mosel river with an amazing historical mill construction.

A beautiful town, situated on the river Saar, with vineyards on the steep sides of the valley. Very picturesque, and with a castle, waterfall in the town centre, and an old bell foundry. There are lots of good walking trails around too.

Lovely town not far from Trier with so much to see. We saw the castle remains, waterfall and chapel. The people were friendly and the shops are nice with good prices. It is definitely worth the drive.

A cozy little town. There are many attractions. Churches, castles, waterfalls, museums. Cozy streets, cafes, restaurants, flowers. Excellent Riesling Wines. It offers a great view of the Saar River and surrounding settlements, vineyards.

This small town in Germany (population 7000) is an absolute gem. So far off the beaten path that none of our German friends had heard of it, Saarburg is untouristed so there are no hordes of people following a guide holding an umbrella on a bright, sunny day. You can see everything in a few hours, but we went back for several days, content to wander the narrow streets of the old town and to take a boat ride on the River Saar. All the people we encountered were friendly and welcoming.

Saarburg is still a lovely place. It's been 20 years since I have been there. But it was so nice to see it again! Even the Laurentius Keller and Cortina were still there! It was really nice to be back again!

BEAUTIFUL!!! Totally underrated town of Saarland. Surrounded with vineyards, the waterfall in the middle of the town and a vibrant square with bars and cafes. Definitely worth a visit

The medieval town is charming. The view from the hill top over the Saar river, where the castle ruins are, is impressing as well.

Before visiting the castle I read about its history and foundation. It was very interesting. I knew that its length was not going to impress me, but as a good woman obsessed with castles, I was not going to let it go just because of that.
The castle is open to the public and has a single tower that is accessible. The view from there is magnificent.
I was surprised to see that there was a restaurant next door, which unfortunately was closed. Of course I will return to taste the dishes of the place.

Beautiful small town, pretty waterfalls to look at, a chair lift to the top of a hill and a nearby bird garden, with daily raptor flying shows. A ruined castle with a tower to be climbed up is another attraction along with the Saar River.

One of the most beautiful places in the area. The water canal crossing the center and forming a small waterfall is certainly an attraction and all the atmosphere is very touristic and friendly. You can eat, drink, shop, walk along the river. Highly recommended

Very small city. One could think there is just one little street ans that's all. And it's also a very loud street, as there are many coffeehouses and the river passing by. But yet it's lovely and it takes some time to admire it's beauty and to visit the old castle. I definitely recommend coming here for a cake and coffee and some walks.
