Bauhaus Dessau

When you walk inside the building you can imagine gears and cogs fricting against each other, the building functions as a grinding chew, doors slamming, brisk walking, sometimes i feel lucky to be in this city, most times i feel i can't escape the big old W&B "Modern Times" by charlie chaplin, The Shop itself is a piece of art!

We had an English guided tour, and it was amazing! The guide was clear, we visited all the structures. Loved it!🙌🏻

We had a wonderful experience. Truly a real, and odd form of modern creativity. I truly believe the inspiration for modern design and IKEA started here.

Beautiful and immersive experience in one of the place that has change our lives trough the design!!We slept in the dormitory and it was a great contact with the magic of this place!! I can suggest it to everyone who loves art and architecture!!

A true modernist icon. The students wing is open for overnight accommodation, booked through web site. Rooms have been renovated with share toilet and shower on each floor and a small kitchen. Some tours in English, check at the gift shop for details. Walking distance to the Masters Houses.

Just as it clocks 100 years soon, I had the opportunity to take a tour around the Bauhaus Dessau and was blown away by its significance in the world of design, art, and architecture. The building is a masterpiece of modern architecture, with its clean lines and minimalist aesthetic still looking fresh and contemporary today despite it being constructed almost a century ago.

The tour provided an interesting insight into how the Bauhaus has shaped modern design and technology, providing a foundation for innovation that countless architects, designers, and artists still draw upon today.

The designs and creations of the Bauhaus school are on display throughout, and there are many interactive exhibits providing an immersive experience that showcases how technology is shaping the future of design.

If you have any interest in architecture, design, or art, I would highly recommend visiting this iconic landmark. The staff is knowledgeable and passionate, and the building is a testament to the innovative spirit of the Bauhaus movement.

A stunning and lovingly restored home and former school of the Bauhaus. Beautiful place to relive and learn about the history of the Bauhausler. The the cafe-bistro/Keller is great for food and drink all day.

As of August 2022, the main building is under construction, meaning the lettering in the world-famous façade is not there. Nevertheless, it's the freaking Bauhaus and 1000000% worth visiting!

What a wonderful experience. The entire area is a designers dream. The layout of the buildings, gardens and the spaces are exquisite. Serene and beautiful. Very friendly and helpful staff with very good English spoken. Lovely gift shop that is a must. Good prices and beautiful products. So glad I went.

Just a thing that should be in your bucket list if you don't live in Germany.

Lovely school and spaces for all of those that had any past encounters with the Bauhaus movement! Otherwise, the filter coffee and the delicious cheesecake is just a nice treat for a sunny day.

Such a cool place! Exhibitions are pretty small, but the architecture is a must see !

We did visit it in 2016. It was a dream coming true! I’m architect, and since my University I dreamed about this day! It was a magical experience visiting the Bauhaus building and the Master Haus!

Fantastic place for architect and dizaine lovers, with a lovely cafe inside with self-service and with outdoor seating. Parking is nearby, 1 hour for free

The staff is passionate and friendly. The Bauhaus itself is worth the visit anytime, feels like a design pilgrimage. Don’t miss the Cafeteria.
