Bauhaus Museum Dessau

Amazing buildings and impressive exhibitions about the Bauhaus.
The ground floor huge space consists museum shop and a cafe.
1st floor consists of an exhibition. You can start on one side and finish on the other side of the building. This a round exhibition.

The basement has lockers and a WC.

I paid 9 euros for the entrance.

Interesting and thought-inspiring, rich collection mostly focused on graphic desigh and furniture, I thought there would be more architecture though. It is not overwhealmingly big, I was done after one hour, but you can spend more time exploring all the details and texts.

A must-see if you are in Dessau area. Definitely a worthwhile destination for anyone interested in modern design.

Interesting complementary exhibition to the actual Bauhaus a couple streets further off. Glass cube façade opposite the old post office building makes for an architectural juxtaposition. The inside museum is well structured and walls you through the Bauhaus history with well explained description of the exhibits. A great collection worth a visit!

I had an idea what Bauhaus was about, but it was more and more influential than I thought.

Such an interesting museum to discover the Bauhaus movement and history.

Wow, an eye opening impressive couple of hours spent. Staff was delightful from tickets, security, cafe and shop wow, what a nice bunch! Such a difference between this current and the secession ha! , but how could we not appreciate each of them .thank you dessau, would return...and not just for the cake and coffee

A great place with interesting exhibitions

Not what you will expect from a museum, but on the other hand is a nice place where a lot of cultural events are hosted.

A beautiful curated exhibit that captures the iconic and forever inspiring birth of Bauhaus

A great museum! Great collection of bauhaus material from portfolios and books to furniture and architectural plans.
The exhibition is more a celebration rather than an introduction to bauhaus.
But well worth it for a tone with a gra for art, design or culture.

Worth a visit. There are plenty of exhibits to see and hear and touch . There a number of films to watch and recordings to listen to and much to read. Allow plenty of time if you have interest in Bauhaus

In Dessau there are three main places to see if you want to connect to the Bauhaus movement: the original school, the master's houses and this relatively new Bauhaus museum. I was a bit confused what to do first. If I had to redo my visit, I would do the original Bauhaus first (not much to see, but the real thing), the master's houses second (same reason) and then finish with the museum to see some fine Bauhaus examples.

Great exhibit with many very interested works by the Bauhaus teachers and students. Perfect mix between objects and graphic design and a lot of interesting background information.

Worth having a visit.

Wonderful experience and critical addition to Dessau Bauhaus offer. Super building and collection interpretation allows objects to be understood in relevant contexts without naaratives imposed upon them. Much to recommend here
