Maximilianpark Hamm

The park is really great. Children have lots of fun here. There is playing options for both smaller and bigger children. The water playgrounds in hot days are a hit!
The butterfly house left us amazed. Very beautiful.
There is events happening for children - all information can be found on their website.

The water park is a top favorite for my son! He absolutely loved it. It’s well equipped and fun. There’s an area with sand and also with hard cover flooring so that’s good. There’s food stands about 5 minutes away from the water park and the walk around the area is absolutely beautiful. All the flowers, butterflies and everything made the day really beautiful.

This place is really cool. Well structured, safe, clean with endless hours of (non-screen time) fun for kids!

The gardens are immaculate, beautiful and well taken care of. They’re complimented by an array of statues that pay homage to the history of the site.

The butterfly enclosure is beautiful and houses numerous species from around the world.

I’ve never seen so many different designs of playgrounds in one park! Both me and my kids enjoyed this park a lot. There’s a little dining area by the lake, you can order Fries and bratwurst and Currywurst there.

Very good place if it's not cold and you have children (won't be so interesting for adults)

It's the best park ever! Water playgrounds, amazing number of slides, climbing walls and nets, beautiful gardens - it's the place for the whole family, where a child of every age, parents and grandparents will find something for themselves! Good job!

We end up here every time we visitvthiscarea of Germany. Butterfly house, lego exhibition, play Park, wet play, and a lovely walk. Perfect for all the family.

A big fun park for all the family, little coffee place, waterfun for the children to play, a butterfly house, too.
But no dogs are allowed in Maximilianpark...

The best location where I ever went with my family in Germany. It is just amazing for Kids!

Loved it - fantastic light show!

This is an excellent place to take children (perhaps aged 1 to 12 for the playgrounds) in a dog-free place with plenty of playgrounds and extensive gardens. The cost is reasonable (€5 adults, €3 children - August 2022). We go a few times a year and stay about 4 hours each visit; the playgrounds are scattered around the western part of the park; the east has nice walks and children's learning activities (in German) and a small but must-visit butterfly house (costs a little extra).

Maxipark can be very busy during NRW school holidays (which don't include the last week of August it seems: almost empty during British Bank Holiday Monday).

Central playground has lots of water activities (pumps, streams, fountains etc): can be useful for children to have a change of clothes (or swimming costume).

Lots of parking but also frequent buses (numbers 1 and 3 I think) to Hamm railway station (about 25 minutes).

Good time pass for children. They have some water games, play area, butterfly house, glass elephant.
We approximately can spend around 5 hours.

Beautiful park with lots of play areas for children. The glass elephant is pretty and has nice plants and mechanical sculptures inside. Also gives good views out across the park. You have to pay to enter the park, but the elephant is free to enter. There is also free parking out side.

Very good for kids..

My favourite park in Hamm, absolutely love the butterfly house. Additionally all the swings and slides are extremely fun for the children. Finally, I would recommend to the fellow gourmet enjoyer, the cherry pie at the restaurant. Hopefully, this pandemic will release its strain soon enough, so that we can enjoy the beauty of Maximilianpark even more.
