Restaurant zum Onkel Willi

We enjoyed a delicious dinner of authentic German food in a very nice setting. The service was good and the wine selection was comprehensive. This is a great place to taste the local cuisine and the local wine. Be sure to make a reservation as the locals know this restaurant is excellent!

Definitely a must for a dinner when in Cochem.

We were very fortunate, no booking and were busy, but accommodated us with a cute table.
Staff were fantastic.
Menu's are in German and the staff don't speak a lot of English (their English was much better than my German) but were easy to understand and very helpful.
Steak was amazing, best in Germany, so far.

Great unassuming place, great atmosphere and excellent food. Do give it a try when in Cochem, that is if you find place, as it often is packed with diners.

Very nice hotel and restaurant! We stayed here two nights in the autumn. Breakfast is above average with a genearous selection of dishes. Good food was served in the evening.

The room was spacious, clean and a rather large bathroom. The location was infact very close to Cochem city center. It looked like it was a bit to walk on the map but it felt like after a few steps you entered the city center.

This restaurant was one of a half dozen recommendations from the owner/manager of our hotel in Cochem. Just outside of the hub of tourist activity it is a quieter and more relaxed place to enjoy a meal. The service was good, even providing a English version of the menu on request. The food was fresh and thoughtfully prepared. It was one of our best meals while visiting Germany. Highly recommended.

We had a superb dinner at Onkel Willi, definitely a nice escape and a huge step up from the tourist traps on the Promenade. We went on recommendation from a local, and happily forward the recommendation. I can highly recommend the Onkel Willi Grillpfanne, which was a nice and large assortment of delicious meats, with green beans and pan roasted potatoes (bratkartoffeln). The flavors were really very good in every case. Also my wife's Trout was fantastic. Good local wine sorts, had a wonderful dry white and some beer. Forgot to take pics of the lovely dishes but I will definitely come back! Thank you Onkel Willi!

Onkel Willy can make a damn good schnitzel.

Tasty local German dishes with a very friendly staff. Unfortunately there was no English menu. But free wifi is available if you need online translating. There are 7 on site parking spots. Also, their dog greeted us as we pulled in. Extra points for that.

Perfect located family place with a good restaurant and a great manager looking after her guests. Right next to the Sesselbahn, seat lift, taking y up to the hill. From there there are some nice short and long hikes. Do not forget to taste some local Moessel wine and to go for a walk by the river and up to the castle

Tasty food, nice staff and good service. I orderd "zanderdfilet" the tast of it was new for me, but wasn't so amazing.

Best in town! If you wanna have a great meal with great service - you have to visit Onkel Willi! Skip the tourist traps and go here!
