entrance 9 euros for adults with special prices for groups and free for children. it is very educational for all ages, divided in two floors and follows the history of railway trains from the Adler till Ice 3. follow the map and the history timeline to get the best of the visit. there is special exhibition for the future Db planning and mystery stories from german trains. very organised and professional place. duration of visit 3 hrs with the other two museums.

In Nürnberg ? And wish you knew some history on DB bhan ? Must visit for all age groups, children would be really surprised by the scale at which the locomotives are represented, there is play area and a train ride at top floor. For adults its an eye opener, one would just think where all this research vanished !

This is a great place to burn some time and see some really cool displays if you're visiting. The price is extremely affordable for what you get. And they have everything trains. Historical, present day, concepts, full scale, micro and working model train sets.

This museum is amazing. They cover the history of the Deutsche Bahn, from start to present day. It is extensive, so expect to spend a lot of time here.

If you do not speak/read German you will want a translation app (or a friend who does), as not all exhibits have English translations.

They have a huge modelarium. One of my favorite parts of the museum.

One of the best and most organized museums in Nuremberg. for train lovers and of course also for small children. in the same building they also had a museum about Germany's posts and telecommunications. In the basement you will see trains of the time up close and you can even get inside one of them. The museum continues on the outside of the building, don't miss it.

Liked it.. Lots of sample model + few real trains. We, including 3 years old kid, liked it very much.. App available in English which guide u through the museum.. 3 floors occupied, big museum with lots of story + video.. Consider 5 hours to complete all 3 floors..

This is an amazing museum! I thoroughly enjoyed my visit. I had a long connection at the nearby Nuremberg Hauptbahnhof, so I decided to come here. Even if you are not interested in trains, you will find this museum interesting. There is a huge collection of vintage trains here and a cool model railway.

One of the best Museums I have seen. This place truly tells you about the history of mass transportation the railway. You can see the oldest wagons and engines to the latest. The audio guide was good for English people. Do carry your headphones.

There is also a place for the kids. Well designed and informative. Very close to the central train station. Discount available if you hold a valid train ticket. Clear recommendation.

The museum exceeded our expectations, my boy was absolutely thrilled and was very hard to convince him that we have to go. If you have the time to read all the information it really tells you the story of the railway and provides very interesting details, nonetheless if you go with the kids you will only have time to admire the beauty of the trains. Keep in mind there is almost an entire floor as playground, consider it when you plan the visit.

This building houses the Railway Museum and the Communications Museum. There was a lot to see and learn. It is great for families with children, as well as solo adults. Plan to spend 3-5hrs if you want to experience everything.

Excellent museum of German Rail since the Industrial Revolution to the present. Exhibits included full-scale models of old locomotives and wagons, all which were well preserved. Sadly you can't enter all of them. The information provided is detailed and well written, but there isn't always an English translation. There are also miniature model railways that occasionally run.

If you like trains, you'll love this museum from DB. A really good combination of history, trains and if you're bringing kids then plenty of stuff for them to see.

Only giving 5 stars as Google doesn't allow me to give it 10. For anyone who is a train enthusiast this place is amazing. There's so much info to take in spread across many floors. And it's for all ages which is great. Highly recommended!

This museum is incredible. It shows the entire history of the German railway system in incredible detail. There's also examples of everything including old train tickets, train schedules and masses of uniforms. There are also lots of old trains as well as models of trains that were used in history. There's a model railroad too that they show every hour where you can watch the model trains drive around the very big landscape they built. There's lots to do for children so it's an easy day out for parents with kids that have an interest in trains. There are multiple ways to get a discount including if you have a train ticket you bought on the day they'll reduce the price for you.

Very detailed museum with a ton of information and faithful models, both in miniature and full scale. What I loved especially was the display hall with a few locomotives on display with you being able to access some of their cabs. Plus the cutaway model showcasing the workings of a steam loco using LEDs was pretty neat. Every piece of history up to the 2000s is beautifully detailed in this museum with many real sized locomotives to admire around the place. Though I do wish there was a little more on the modern side of the DB. Would've loved to have seen my favorite 185 traxx at the museum.
