Beautiful park in Kassel with a lot of things to see. The park combines nature and historical architecture to give you a good time when visiting. The well maintained paths make walking in the park very easy and just enjoyable with a lot of things to see while walking around it… the views you get just makes it even more worth it to visit. A must visit place when visiting Kassel!

In the dense dawn, one runs into a wall of fog, and thus begins the metamorphosis on a blank, white paper. Alone on the running journey, the faithful companion, the heron, is suddenly discovered, and the mountain park unfolds into an endless symphony of solitude. Amidst rows of trees forming a Japanese calligraphy, no hiker is encountered; one is closest to oneself. The cold air cuts while breathing, blowing thought bubbles into the atmosphere. A feeling of happiness permeates as you ascend higher, past old companions, massive trees from distant worlds, summoning colonial thoughts that seamlessly fit into the visual axis. Here, I claim this park as my inner refuge, a territorial sense of home, viewed from the outside.

The path leads higher, ever higher, past the Devil's Bridge, which changes its aura daily in capricious moods. In this ascent, in this transformation, a metaphor for the pursuit of higher values is revealed. Every path is familiar until finally reaching the summit, the Hercules. Here, encountering early morning tourists whose smoke seems to taint the pure spirit - here, no poison is needed. A swift return, circling the Löwenburg like a perfect drawing in a Disney landscape. Even Michael Jackson would have liked to erect fences here, but it remains a public place, a park that I miss painfully wherever I am in the world. Here, one feels alive, the heart beats faster, faster.

A great park and quite naturally a must-see when visiting Kassel. Of course, summer is the best time for a visit as the water features will be active, but even in winter (when I visited), it's a five star experience if you visit the five stations of the water features and the other highlights. Despite it's erratic layout, the park is easy to navigate thanks to many maps scattered throughout.

One point of consideration is that after snowfall has melted and frozen again (which was the case during my visit), various walkways and staircases can become very slippery, to the point of becoming dangerous to walk upon.

An absolute wholesome experience. You can book a two days trip here book a nice little air bnb (I stayed at helga's- the couple is super sweet and helpful) visit the wilhelmshöhe and reserve a nice brunch/frühstück at some Cafe. It's worth the visit. Breathtaking view and a must visit place.

What a lovely place to visit. Nice walks in greenery. Fresh air, sound of flowing water, birds. You can easily spend your whole day here. 6€ ticket is worth it. You can visit the top of Hercules statue, museum, Löwenberg all in the same ticket. The view from top was awesome.

This park is filled with natural beauty and historical structures. There’s mountain, forest and 3 amazing castles. You can take a bus from main train station to the top of mountain where herkules is. And you can see all the beautiful landscapes while climbing down.

Running. Definitely a great location for your run, especially if you are into hill training. Lots of places to see along the way in case I need to catch your breath. Paved and unpaved roads, plenty of shade in the summer and during winter, the trees protect you from the wind.

A very beautiful place to visit! We hiked going to the hercules. The place is cool and very relaxing. Magnificent view. We went on a saturday and didn't know that there's schedule for water play and bus. But still worth the walks. If I could, I would definitely go here every week but we live far from it.

Great place to enjoy nature and hike.
The view from the top is splendid which made the trail so worth it (there's a bus though that can take you all the way to the top, or can take the car to avoid walking).

Wonderful nature park situated on the western outskirts of Kassel. The park is huge and there is quite some uphil walk. The watershow, starting from the Hercules statue down to the garden in front of the palace, was quite mesmerizing.

IMPORTANT NOTE: People with children and kinderwagen should take the shuttle bus or bus 23 from the besuchzentrum near the tram stop to go to the top and climb down on foot. No doubt it is exciting and colorful hiking, but with prams and small children, it is very difficult to climb stairs.

Very beautiful water features in a park with a castle and a palace. A must see even though it is a little crowded but this is to be expected because they only turn the water features on twice a week. Plan your visit around their schedule because you don't want to miss this.

This park is amazingly large and beautiful, the waterfall is really nicely used all along the way down from Hercules statue.

Beautiful park, in Autumn, Winter, Spring or Summer, it’s always beautiful. Especially if it is sunny. The scenery over Kassel is beautiful and the walk from the bottom is well rewarded. There’s Cafeteria at Schloss Wilhelmshöhe, at the bottom of the cascades and at the top. For those who can’t walk that far, there’s also public transportation (Tram-Bus combination) which takes you to “Herkules” and back from the city.

This is a very large park, basically a half to full day event with a wonderful castle, this amazing waterfall and Hercules construction, and more. Not a huge amount of parking so when the water falls are operating it may get very busy. All free, except the parking :)
