Went there a couple of times in the past 2 months - the place is now very far, BUT is much bigger, no need to wait outside (if u want to only - there are benches all around), fast service (I had online appointments both times). There are 3 changing tables there and a moving curtain - probably if one wants/needs to breastfeed. Overall, very pleasant experience, way better than before, the longer trip almost seems worth the better conditions )

UPDATED April 2023 photo of the same area for kids and babies. No shield/curtain this time which is a major change for young mothers.

I have been here twice, and each time I booked an appointment in advance. The first time I came to submit documents for temporary residence, and the second time I came to pick up a document and ask a few questions.

I don't understand all the bad reviews here as both times I came the clerks were extremely hepful and friendly. They spoke English and explained everything throroughly. Both times we were in and out in under 45 minutes. I really have nothing bad to say as my personal experience here was great.

It used to be literal hell on earth to have to come to this place (without an appointment which was very difficult to get for an early enough date). It used to be that there was always an emotionally tense mob at 8 am nearly fighting over a good place in line for the tickets and almost none of the staff was very friendly or spoke english. Considering all that, I am very impressed with recent improvements which are significant. I don't know how they did it but the line is way less crowded at 8 and (probably as effect of this) much more civilised and polite. Much of the staff still can't speak english but suddenly many of them do and are very friendly and helpful. The charity workers there are literal angels, they are determined to go above and beyond to help you with any problem you might have, however silly or complex it is. Along with the most hardworking employees, they deserve so much praise and respect for the help they provide to people who often feel lost and helpless about how to navigate the requirements. Huge respect for the rapid improvements. Hope things continue to get even better.
(Sidenote, the waiting room and the upstairs toilets are always very clean and tidy)

I was pleasantly surprised by the experience here. Call for the reservation (mine was in a week), and read through the complete guide for your request.

They wanted to make the web pages simple so there are no restrictions written until you go to the complete documentation (e.g. that some documents can’t be older than 180 days when submitted). Just read through it, your experience will be better as well.

My first visit was to give biometrics. The middle aged lady’s English was not good so she called her English colleague to assist as she needed to ask some questions . They were both very very nice n patient. The minimum English she knew it for sure. Another day when I went to pick up my card, another middle aged lady was very polite n helpful. Definitely deserve 5 star. One thing to know is that no matter how early u go, if you have an appointment, your name / PIN will appear only “within” 30 minutes of the invitation time on the screen so then u can get ur token ticket. If you try 31 mins before it won’t work!! So in short, there no point going early if you have an appointment. Better go within the 30 mins. They have clean toilets also to use.

You only go early if you don’t have appointment as then you need to try your luck every time at the token machine to see if they have spots free. If they have spots free u will b able to get a token ticket otherwise keep waiting n trying.

Smooth sailing! Went in without appointment for passport number change on my temporary residence permit. Agent was swift and polite. Was in and out in less than an hour. Tip: if you go there without appointment, arrive before 8:00 when the offices open and stand in line. When they open quickly get a number without appointment as they run around fast!

Im living in brno since 2011. They have changed the whole framework. Building is new, workers are polite and almost everyone speaks eng. Even though the previous place and some workers back in time were horrific, this is great improvement that needs to be applauded.

Very quick and helpful. And the people were very nice. It is my first experience of MOI in Brno and I must say it was probably the best of any "Urad" experience I've had in Czech Republic. If anyone knows where I could write a personal review for the lady that helped me, it would be great.

If you have an urgent need and couldn't book an appointment, it's recommended to get in line around 6 am. You'll probably be done around 9. I got in line after 7 am and got done after 3 pm.

I had scheduled via internet for bridge visa, I arrived ontime and it took less than 10 minutes to be attended. Ilthe place was half full of people. The new building is a lot better than the previous one.

Based on my experience, it's not what other people say. You just need to go there ahead of time because there are a lot of people on the line before it opens. On my case since we came early, we have to wait a bit longer but when I came inside it didn't take so much time. It's quick and the lady is nice. The process is very smooth.

I visited the immigration office on 12/11 & 14/11 for residency certificate. My personal experience was great. I was offered help from door entry till application approval.

Agent handling my aplications was very patient & i would say that their service, English communication had improved a lot comparing last year.

Remember to come early in the morning and get a number. Then go have a brunch in the city, run some errands, take up some hobbies, start a family, take a mortgage, plan for your retirement and then come back to check if you are any closer to report an address change.

Usually a terrible experience, but I am giving this review to Patrik G. the clerk that helped me today with extending my Visa. He was amazingly helpful and went the extra mile to ensure I was supported and understood everything. Thank you!

Very friendly people also they can help you in English, you can setup the appointment from their website and the day of the appointment is much less crowded than before and the paperwork can be done faster.
