Saint Wenceslas Cathedral Olomouc

Incredible architecture, decorations, details. It's free to enter so definitely when you're in Olomouc, this place is mandatory to visit.

It's very old cathedral. Very beautiful. Same cathedral in Prague too. But I don't know, there are cathedral like this.

The Olomouc St. Wenceslas Cathedral is well worth a visit. The beautiful and large building is situated near its museum and a lovely square, with a pretty garden next to it. The gothic structure has a beautiful interior, with an impressive collection of relics. You can also descent into the catacombs and pay respect to some earlier cardinals, bishops and archbishops.

We were surprised to find such a huge and beautiful cathedral in not so big city.

We planned just tea take pictures and move next, but when we first saw it, we decided to seat on a bench next to cathedral and were looking at it about a half an hour.

100 meters tower, Czech king was killed in one of its room, and big restoration was made in 2007. So you should visit it.

We visited during the week, when there were no one else there and a lovely gentleman offered to show us around and tell us more about the history of the cathedral. It was amazing! We were in absolute awe - just the amount of detail in the frescoes are unbelievable. Down in the crypt are several metal "coffins" with such intricate metal decoration. Just gorgeous.

Pay attention to the cheeky self portrait 'bust' of the architect, right in the middle of the churches entrance way (outside), above the door in a gargoyle-style.

Amazing Cathedral worth visiting. The gothic structure has a suprising, dark inside. In the center at the end there is a glowing beautiful altar with a cross. At that time the quoir was having their rehearsal.

Absolutely beautiful cathedral in Olomouc! First mentions are from 12th century. Today’s look was mostly made around the end of 19th century. Indeed great piece of architecture! I highly recommend to visit one of organs concert.

The Wenceslas Cathedral is the Olomouc jewel. Especially before sunset the atmosphere on the little square in front of the cathedral is charming. This place is Czech history witness.

Lovely high and old cathedral near city centre. I really like them inside, but there you can not take a pictures. But here some from the outside.

Absolutely beautiful church!

Saint Wenceslas cathedral is incredible and something not to be missed when visiting Olomouc. The building itself is very imposing and powerful but the treasures inside are magnificent. There are so many relics of Saints inside and you can tell this is a special and important place to Catholics. Mother Teresa and St. John Paul II both visited. Go into the crypt for even more beauty.

Amazing! Czechia has not ceased to amaze me with their care of their churches, especially since many people are not believers in Jesus. This cathedral is worth visiting even if the tower is not open. I wish I took pictures to share!
